From Bonnell:
"Graham's versatility and toughness could come in handy this preseason, with so many big men hurt. Brown said Gerald Wallace or Graham might occasionally fill in at power forward while Boris Diaw and Vlade Radmanovic recover from ankle sprains.
Brown said he'd prefer not to play Derrick Brown at power forward this preseason, so that the rookie can concentrate on learning the small forward position."
So if Wallace or Graham might occasionally be filling in who is starting tuesday night?
Also Lauer says in his blog that Graham is 6'3'' while there is a quote from Brown in the Bonnell article listing him at 6'6''. I hope it is 6'6'' if he is going to be filling in at the 4.

Yahoo and ESPN both have him listed as 6'6.
Still, not the ideal height you want, even for a long athletic guy.

this is ajincas time to shine with so many men banged up. I expect he will get alot of minutes in the first few preseason games with diaw and vlad hurt. This is ajincas chance to prove what he can do besides makin u waste a draft pick on him.

It's all about how you use the height. Look at Charles Barkley. wasn't he 6'4"? He's definitely more an exception than the rule, but perhaps Graham can at least cover the spot for now.Still, you're right in that a taller person will find it easier to attain skill at the 4 spot.
I'd guess Lexy is starting and we'll see a lot of Graham there too.
And Barkley's 6'2

Wikipedia says Barkley claimed he was 6 foot 4, but I've heard him listed at 6 foot 6
I hope Brown starts at PF in the preseason, he might be a rookie but I think he's already better than Ajinca... which is kinda sad.
He's older than Lexy though isn't he?

I don't know, he might be but I just don't see him having a career in the NBA.
With young bigs you kinda have to give them 2-3 years...but Lexy is looking like a bust...mainly (IMO) because he looks lost too often...I'm not sure he'll ever get it but I hope he does...I'd hate to have another worthless first...!
I thought LB said he was playing UPS at the 3 and would not use him at the 4 ...at least to start with...thought I read that...anyone else confirm?

sadly...yes.
Well...if Lexy keeps playing like crap and UPS keeps playing like he did in summer league LB may not have a choice...

Cosign 100 %
Ajinca is the only bench player who fits at PF. I really really would rather Derrick Brown, But LB see's him more as a SF which is were I thought he would end up. Still seems crazy to sign another G/F when PF is clearly still a bleeding wound for this team. Damn you Sean May!!!!!

My guess is that Brown saw some potential value in those wings and is looking to keep one, possibly eliminating Jefferson too. Once they find a quality big that makes sense, I think they'll bring one in. I'm just guessing that Brown didn't want his Lynch type player to evade him while he was searching through mediocre bigs.
A little bird told me that we're going to sign a backup PF this week...

Diop has got to start at the five tomorrow with TC and Nazz hurt . That leaves no back up at the five.
Im guessing it's between Alexas and UPS starting at the four, Alexas will have to play some five all so . I think UPS gets the start at four with Alexas backing up both positions. With Vald being hurt all so.
With Wallace starting at three Bell at the two and Felts at the point. We very thin at the four and five tomorrow.
Felts, DJ. Jefferson' = Jefferson i think gets cut or traded
Bell, Flip, Hendo
Wallace, the new guy , Might see Bell playing some three with Filp and Hendo playing the two
UPS, Alexas
Diop, Alexas
With our lack of bigs UPS and Alexas should get a lot of burn,,,,,,,,,,
^Didn't Vladi practice the other day though? I think he's game-ready...could be wrong though.

I don't think Nazz or Vlad either one is hurt bad . Being a preseason game im not sure Brown plays either. Im thinking it being the first preseason game Brown is going to give a lot of burn to players fighting for rotation spots.
Brown knows what he has as far as starters beside TC. Its no reason to take a chance on hurting . Felts,DJ,Bell, Wallace, We all know what they can do.
I would split Felts and DJ at about 15mins each working Flip about 10 at point and Jefferson the rest.
Bell should play the first 10 to 15 and thats it for him . Flip should carry about 15 at the shooting guard all so. That would leave 18 for Hendo.
Wallace like Bell only goes about 15 playing UPS around 30 may be spliting time between both foward positions.
Alexas gets his chance playing heavy mins around 35 . His and UPS first showing will determine iF we will need to sign another old vetran at p/f.
Im hoping one of those two come through for us big time.

I have to work, So no Bobcats for me. I'll be reading the game thread when I get off. But UPS has to get some time at PF. Vlad is not a PF. He should be Wallace's back up. Not two backups for Wallace and none for Diaw. I want Ajinca to be good, I'm on his bandwagon, But the boy is softer then a baby's cough.
