What team do you think Stephen Jackson will be traded to? Or do you think he will stay with the Warriors? Although It would be nice if he was traded to the Bobcats lol!:g:

You gotta be kidding me...

Jackson is the last guy I want on this team. Horrible attitude, unefficient high volume scorer, turnover prone, bad defender.

No, thank you.

Agreed. Dude is a cry baby. He's 31 and saying his playing career is coming to a close. Um...Grant Hill is 37 and has had waaay more issues then you on the floor and he's still doing well. Plus you have 3 years left on your contract AFTER this year, no body wants your ass.

Just look how GSW fans react to his suspension.

Hell, I wouldn't even trade Nazr for him.

Stephen Jackson is one of the most misunderstood players in the league.

The guy is vaunted frequently by teammates at how good of a guy he is. However, like Rasheed Wallace, his passion on the court makes people think that he is just some hood character who likes to shoot.

Check out this info from NBA.com about his last two years:

.Since joining the Warriors, has been the team’s most active participant in community outreach efforts...Earned the 2007-08 Angela & Christopher Cohan Community Service Award, which is awarded annually by the Warriors to the player who best exemplifies the spirit of community service through their outstanding commitment of time, service and financial support to the children and families in the Bay Area...Additionally, received the NBA Community Assist Award for the month of March 2008, a month in which he participated in a Silence the Violence rally at Oakland Tech High School, teamed up with Grammy Award-winner John Legend to raise funds for the Show Me Campaign (Jackson personally donated $15,000), and participated in the groundbreaking for a basketball court renovation project...The court renovation, which Jackson sponsored, took place at the Omega Boy’s Club in San Francisco and upon completion of the project was unveiled as the Stephen Jackson Basketball Court...In honor of Jackson’s continued commitment to the community, San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom proclaimed April 12, 2008, as Stephen Jackson Day in the City of San Francisco...Thoughout the 2007-08 season, took part in many community events, including several Read To Achieve outings and fan interaction programs...Provided candy and gifts to local youth groups that visited his downtown Oakland apartment on Halloween...Along with Southwest Airlines, hosted the Stephen Jackson Essay Contest, in which a group of students from his hometown of Port Arthur flew to the Bay Area to meet Jackson and attend their first NBA game...Upon joining the Warriors in January of 2007, immediately took part in several community outreach events, including a visit to Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School on his first full day in the Bay Area...Additionally, took part in an E-Loan Habitat for Humanity building event in late February 2007, as well as a Read To Achieve event in Oakland in late March.

Jackson is also known as a good defender. Just because he shoots threes doesn't mean he isn't covering his man. Look up just about any article on the guy and they'll point it out.

I like the guy a lot, despite his recent run-ins with Nelson, who has had plenty of run-ins of his own. Jackson would be a tremendous shooting guard for us. However, I think he ultimately needs to be on a successful team where he fits a role and doesn't second guess the leadership. He's a guy who will give his everything for a team, but only if he respects them.

I'm just not sure we're that team yet.

I'd trade Gana for him...

NBA Rumor Mill: Thanks But No Thanks on Stephen Jackson for Zydrunas Ilgauskas (http://mvn.com/cavalierattitude/2009/10/nba-rumor-mill-thanks-but-no-thanks-on-stephen-jackson-for-zydrunas-ilgauskas.html)

FWIW

Let's say we could get either Jackson or Rip Hamilton for Raja, Nazr & filler. Jackson is signed for 3 more years after this season for 28 million...Rip is signed for 3 more years after this season for 38 million. They're roughly the same age.

Who would you go with?

Maybe Rip, but "NO" to Jackson.

But it doesn't matter anyway. As long as Bob Johnson is the owner, we won't take on players with long-term contracts. The Salary cap will continue to decrease and we are still for sale.

I am not as down on Jackson as others. He is a solid player who just gets a little out there sometimes. Sheed does the same crap and people still want him for his game. If he can find a place where he's wanted and fits in, he'll be fine. And I would not be opposed to him being a Bobcat if we can get rid of some something like Gana's contract. I prefer Nazr to Gana.

Spectre, I'd go with Captain Jack. I don't know what it is, but something just seems off about Rip nowadays... maybe he just has too many miles on his legs?

I've always been a fan of Rip...but the last couple of years have made me think he values his role more highly than he does the team and he's starting to seems sort of like a prima donna.

People blame AI for the Detroit mess last season, but IMO Rip deserves some of it.

Look at Miller bitching about being the starter in Portland. At his age WTF does he care? He's on a contender (or close to it) and he's getting paid. He WILL contribute to that...why isn't that enough?

Jackson is mega talented but I'd worry about him fitting with LB. Either it'd work wonderfully or it'd be a train wreck.

Same. Jackson has a great skill set and is the better outside shooter. In many ways, Jackson is the prototype of the 2 we need in terms of skill. Of course, he comes with baggage.

Very true, but if so many people were wanting AI and his severely diminished skills so badly, then they'd should be all over Stephen Jackson since he is much better.

Of course, we're in no way going to bring him in haha
