This is an addition to a previous trade i proposed with Bell going to Golden State for Ronny Turiaf, but a new offer has come to me after reading an article on RealGM: http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/62162/20091016/warriors_playing_acie_law_at_small_forward/
Nelson added that while he's a natural there, but that it is the only position Nelson can put him in unless an injury happens. I say we keep Turiaf and Bell the same and add Acie Law and Dontell Jefferson to the deal.
Why for Golden State: It's established through this article that SF is a major need for them with Jackson demanding a deal. Bell has the size to be an efficient SF in Golden State and would fill a nice need for them. Turiaf is a nice player to have, but the team has a vested interest in Anthony Randolph and Branden Wright and it just wouldn't make sense for them to keep them on the bench. The departure of Turiaf means those guys will take his spot.
Why for Charlotte: Turiaf is a needed prescene at forward/center that will help the team. Law is a nice SG/PG blend player and it will make it easier to make a deal involving Felton to get another piece they need. Law provides the backup at PG if Felton was to leave in a trade and Law is a nice SG in situations and a very gritty player that Larry Brown would embrace.

Before the draft he was in, i remember hearing that Law is actually 6 foot 1, but they listed him as higher (like they do with so many players).
A 6 foot 1 player at Sf is gonna be fun to watch >..

I don't think turiaf makes us any better, ditto for law
Depending on how Raja plays out the rest of the preseason, and how bad Flip's ankle is, not a bad idea. I don't know, though.
All I'm going to say is I'm really glad that SirBobcat isn't the Bobcats GM.

well man we all can't come up with unrealistic trades that sound great, but you damn well know they'll never happen. I'd like to pull off a miraculous deal that I could see Golden State doing that will benefit the Bobcats a great deal, but the fact of the matter is that the two pieces going to Charlotte would help the Bobcats out and it is realistic to think that they'd make the deal unlike some of the garbage deals i've seen where Anthony Randolph or Branden Wright come to Charlotte.
I'm sorry, BigE, that I couldn't come up with a deal for LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, or Chris Bosh that would look great, but it would never happen. But, I honestly like Acie Law as a role player...as would Larry Brown. He's an solid PG/SG that has a knack for making clutch plays. Turiaf, is a "OK" offensive player, but his reptuation comes from his defense. He does his job in limited time and it is realistic to think that Larry Brown would be interested in adding this guy.
I am curious to see a lot of resentment on this deal considering people loved my previous offer of Turiaf for Bell http://www.bobcatsplanet.com/vb/showthread.php?p=134866#post134866 and now we're adding Law for Jefferson and that changes things? What has changed with the opinions of the fan base to instantly not like this deal? Backup PF is still needed...Backup PG if Felton is set to leave after this year is needed...it's a realistic and solid deal imho for a 33 year old SG who still has some game, but how much longer do you realistically see him being in the league?
^For the record I have no resentment to it. However, I do want to know, without Bell, do we have a TRUE SG on the roster? Flip and law are 6'1, Diaw is a PF first, and Crash can't shoot. So I think SG depth is a major question. But I'm certainly not opposed to it like the others here.

and that's the tough part about making the deal. My guess is they'd throw Henderson up there and see what he has.

LB + Rookie starter = :chairshot::ranting::banghead:
But if anyone can take it, Hendo can...

I know Larry thinks of his yelling as coaching but young players think of it as criticizing them which might be what's wrong with Ajinca.

Anyone who thinks of LB yelling at them as criticizing is a pussy. I think Ajinca finally got it through his head that they were trying to teach, not fuss. That's why he's show so much improvement.

Seriously I see where you are headed with this trade but I leave it in LB's hands weather it would ever go down....

If they really need a SF (and with this Acie Law thing, they must, right?) then what about Vlade? He's a large small forward. GS could use his size, probably.

This deal as unrealistic as one can be - you may not notice but we are trading away expring and ungaranteed contract - and taking longer contracts in return. For no improvement, questionable shooting guard depth replacing type of 3rd point guard which LB likes by one LB doesn't like. For extra depth at PF.
If we will trade Raja for incoming longer contract it would something clearly improving our team. Is Turiaf such a player?
no he's not ^ and we already have Diop's contract (as in enough) already and it will not make us better...
i agree with muttley why not radman instead just for law though they can keep turiaf

turiaf is overrated. The only things he would bring us are energy on the bench (with his hilarious antics/dancing/cheering/great attitude) and more games/a possible reality show on french tv.
