After being hurt, what was he supposed to do?

I actually thought Diaw looked slimmer than he did last season...

I took that as Brown just saying hes got to work his way back in to playing shape . Brown even said it's understandable after the injery . I think he was saying that to explain why 3D isn't at the top of his game yet . 3D should be in much better shape by our first regular season game, TC is the one who is not going to be in game shape by opening night . Working out and game speed are two different things.

The best thing about the artical was Browns praise for UPS last night . Rookies don't usely get that from Brown . UPS caught Browns eye more than DJ last night.

There's where the comment was pulled from. I don't think it means what is implied (or what Bonnell says immediately after the quote). I think Brown simply means since Diaw was hurt, he's not quite in game shape yet. Though LB is known to be cantankerous, I haven't heard about or seen a bus around him at all times for him to throw people under. I think he's just stating the obvious, not looking to rip Diaw sideways.

whoah..i hope that was sarcasm, maybe a reference to sean may?

no way any starter on a pro basketball team should let themselves get out of shape..i dont see any reports of garnett struggling

Sean May was different, he could have eaten salads with water but he chose to eat McDonalds with McFlurries (i don't know if i'm spelling that right).

Looks like we have to start a Diaw is so fat.... thread. It's understandable why he would be a little out of shape after hurting his ankle. Many of us play sports and have sprained an ankle or two. I broke mine during football season so I know the last thing you want to do is stand let alone walk or ride a exercise bike. It won't take Diaw a whole basketball season to get in shape like it did Sean May's fat ass.

RealGM Wiretap strikes again.

They totally skewed the headline to make it be nothing like what LB intended. It wasn't criticism but a statement of fact.

I thought Larry never criticized his players, he said "the players have to take my coaching as coaching and not criticizim".

The running means his endurance and cardio is what is lacking. With an ankle injury, it is very, very hard to keep any of that up to what is normal for anyone, much less an NBA player. You heard Larry say he didn't blame Boris at all...unlike Sean, who was healthy and arrogant.

It wasn't even criticism. LB said he understood why he was out of shape. It's just a case of a web site taking a quote out of context.

I think as much as these guys make, if they aren't hurt or nursing a injury, they should be producing, I think its LB's job to get on them, but not in the press...
