Chad Ford had an Insider article about potential free agents in 2010. One thing he mentioned was that TC may go with his early termination option after this season if he has a good year. Now, we are behind the 8 ball right now with contracts. But if I calculate right, then if TC does opt for early termination and becomes a FA, then with TC, Raja and Raymond all being FA's, that is over $22 mil off the payroll. Now we may go after 1 or all of them, but I did not realize we may have that much $ with which to deal.

We stand a better chance of someone giving us something of value for Mohammed, Diop or Radmanovic.

Thats interesting......I dont think we have a shot at signing Wade/Bfon/Bosh etc etc......BUT with all of the FA's we can still improve our team big time with that kind of extra cash

Wade in Charlotte?

My mother will not allow me to believe in things such as that. They rank in with Santa Claus and his mexican wife and the tooth fairy who also just so happens to be a vampire.

If we signed Wade we would end up with scrubs in the other positions we have to fill because he would tie up all the money...

Yeah right...TC will opt out of that fat contract.

Either way...if we're at 70 now and 22 comes off that leaves 48 million. Assuming the cap at around 55 that would give us about 7 million under the cap...which won't pull a max FA.

There is no telling what will happen with the cap. Our only real chance though is to find a way to get out of the contracts of vlad and naz one year early. The problem is everyone wants to be players in 2010 free agency. Our chances don't look good. If one or both of these guys start playing well it may be possible but I don't see that coming.

Had we not done the naz deal or the vald deal we could offer a max player no problem.

By 2011 we could go after durant but there is no indication he wants to leave.
