View Full Version : Notes from LB's post game presser
Couple interesting notes from LB's post game presser:
On the refs: "Our energy was taken away right from the beginning. You know, Tyson got two fouls in warm-ups."
On Nazzy: "He got us back in the game. You know, he made some terrific plays and got some blocks, posted the ball, he did some terrific things. And we needed him.
On Boris: "And Boris, I thought Boris guarded Dwight better than anybody."
Who wants to bet Nazzy gets more burn, and I'm 110% sure Boris isn't getting traded.

I think this team needs to let augustin be a focal point on offense. he took 6 shots i mean the guy needs to be at least in double figures. Felton should never be there unless all those shots are drives to the hoop.
Chandler was essentially tossed from the game by the refs
Felton takes a little too much time deciding what to run on offense, he is not chris paul who takes as much damn time as he wants to run a play. Felton should be bringing the ball up court and passing it to his first read as he crosses half court. The faster we get the offense started, the faster the ball moves around the better opportunity to have a good possession.
Flip is good but i dont know if he fits us, if he was like a jason terry off the bench then i can understand us letting him play the 1 vs 1 game on the offensive side of the ball but i dont know if he has his shot back.
disappointing loss but the wiz are even further behind us now with a loss to the heat

I don't know how the Bobcats could lose to a Finals team from last year. I mean the Magic had key injuries and all that was left on the team was most of the players who played on those Finals last season. We should have waxed that weak ass injured Magic team.

Tex, you aren't in the Carolina's. Since UNC tied a record for TO's under Roy Williams against FIU, this team isn't making the Tournament. Since Julius Peppers didn't get a sack in his first two games, he was washed up. Since the Hurricanes have started slow there's no way they can make the playoffs.
This is the way Carolina fans work. They have to claim everything is worse than it is, and they want to second guess everyone...

But, the Hurricanes ARE the worst team in the NHL. At least to this point. Only 7 pts so far. I love watching them, but man are they playing horrid hockey right now. Ugly.

He committed two quick fouls and our excuse for him is "it is the refs fault"...

1st I WANT TO SAY THIS IS NOTHING PERSONAL ABOUT YOU .
I am sick to death of hearing how good DJ is and how much Felton sucks. I was at the game DJ stunk up the place last night . He couldn't even guard Williams . If some one sets a pick he gives up on the play compleatly. Talk about his shooting it sucked too last night.Much weorse than Feltons Hell he was out of control the whole game . He had the worst + - on the team . BTW Felton was the only Bobcat who ended the game with a +
Damn Felton shot over 50% but you guys still crap on him . He made DJ look like a friggin High scool player last night. If you want to add hustle in DJ couldn't hold Wallace or Feltons jock strap . Im sick of all the blame Felton crap with out merrit.
Saying Felton Can't run a offence DJ had NO clue last night. DJs shoot he would have been lucky to hit the side of the cable box last night.
I said all this to say ,WHY, can't we just have two good point guards . With all the crap thet goes along with it.
All so this Felton Hero mode crap . Brown runs this team period. He will take any player on the team out. So if Felton shoots the ball its damn sure because Brown said so.
Felton and Wallace busted ass last night . More than the rest put toghter . I just can't understand this? Both players are Bobcats but DJ can suck and get praise and Felton can play well and catch crap like this..

I agre with you hear all so , Lets just start calling it like it really is. TC cant shoot . He is no where near as good as Mek on the boards . Hes foul prone. Face it right Nazz is playing better ball now. Brown was forced to make that trade by the great Bob Johnson.
Lexy could not have played any worse. Im begining to think Lexy might be better.
Yes one of the refs sucked bad last night . It kinda looked like he was trying to cover a 10 point spread on a bet. He called against us the other two did ok.

agreed, but tyson (when on the floor) will be better at contesting shots and deterring driving guards. however, long term...this was a good move. mek was set to kill us contractually in the next few years. we were never going to be a 2nd round playoff team with mek as a center piece. he is an excellent 3rd option/clean up man like he is in NO now. but he is paid like a first option (especially with the cap lowering).

first this is not a duke/carolina thing, hell i attend carolina and have been a fan thru and thru. DOOK sucks and is the worst thing about carolina.
Personally i like it when augustin shoots, he is a shooting Pg and there is nothing wrong with that. I wonder why you can criticize me for want augustin to have ball more b/c right now he probably deserves it the most. Wallace has not been able to much b/c he has suddenly decided to not drive and settle for a jumpshot. Wallace should be our go to scorer but with his confidence the way it is he doesnt feel he should take over a game.
Now in reality we dont have anybody on this roster who "deserves" to take over a game when we need points. everyone on this team is shooting under .500 on the season. But on this team there are three guys who have the personality to "take over the game" when we need them to. Those are Augustin, Felton and Murray. Murray's shot is not back, felton's jumpshot is more suspect than Augustin's at this point so this is the reason i want the ball in Augustin's hands. Im not say, "Augustin go out and take a jumpshot ever possession" but maybe like "Hey Augustin go out and mix it up, jumpshot here, drive there and maybe a few drives with a kickouts to the open man."
In the dream world i would hope that this team could work more efficiently on offense so that we dont need a guy to take over. Our offense is a disaster and to be honest this falls back on the coach. Larry Brown is great but his philosophy on the offensive side of the ball is not clicking. This team needs to score and we are just not doing that. If this means trading for a scorer than im all for it.

Oh boy! Do not say anything bad about the great Larry Brown that won his only NBA championship with a team coming off a nba final appearance before he took over or you wil be crucified on this board. Me I don't care LB system does not fit this team it sucks. We should be pushing the ball more we have the athletes to run especially with TC added. Instead, we slow it down and run plays for inadequate post players dribbling off their leg, traveling, and unable to catch passes.

I think we need to pick teams to death on offense. Chandler is a master finisher, so it makes sense for him to roll. Diaw is a marksman, so it makes sense for him to pop.
What do we do instead? Post up guys with limited talent and miss shots. Excellent.
I agree that we should run a faster pace, this is one of the work arounds when you're a turnover heavy team. Not sure why we don't, but I think it has to do with "playing the right way".

^ You don't get it. It's not like any of us think Larry Brown is some great BB god...it's the fact that his predessors were just so damn bad. After dealing with the ineptitude of Bernie and the Idiot Larry Brown was like throwing a life preserver to a drowning man.
We lucked into LB. Jordan had already told the Idiot that his job was secure; the only thing that got his lame ass out of town was that Brown called Jordan up to tell him he was ready (Jordan tried to get Brown to come on before he hired the Idiot. Hell, I'm suspicious that the reason he even considered Brown was because Dean Smith told him to).
If LB walks who in their right minds think the next hire wouldn't be just as bad a train wreck as those before him?

Guess what? Since you put it that way. Now I see your point. But with as much experience as LB has you would think he could adjust on the fly. Instead he is asking this team to play a style that doesn't fit in my opinion. Until we spend money or trade some of these contracts the LB experience will never see it's potential. That being said you don't have to make the player's adjust to your style you can adjust the style of play to the players until we get the low post prescence etc. that fit.

I like LB a lot as a coach, but like Bernie, he needs to keep his nose out of trades.

3 plays Bernie?
He sucked as a coach. His total game plan was just to play hard. I think we suffered mightily in player development with all our young guys during his tenure. That is much worse than winning/losing a game or two...but he could have done a LOT better in the X Draft to 1) get us a few more wins but more 2) get more assets.
Plus he gave us Ammo.

:D He did start the whole 'Felton at shooting guard' movement. Never understood why he played Ammo so much during his rookie season. Guy was just awful. 33 wins is still impressive, though. I believe it's the most of any third year expansion team.

Yeah, but even there it's not as good as it looks. We had the best salary situation (and I think the best pick) initially out of all the previous expansion teams. We started at 2/3 cap, then 3/4 then full. Others in the past had to wait longer.
Orlando's initial pick was 11th vs our 4th.
We were also a lone expansion team and therefore didn't have to compete for players in the X draft like other teams.
IMO we just could have done better by using the things available.

Our team is where the predecessors stuffed up mightily. Last year LB was doing what he could with the pieces given to him, and this year LB is slowly building this team into contention. It'll be tough this year again, but I think next year (assuming BJ doesn't become a stingy...ahem) we'll see a stronger Bobcats team, with the right pieces to contend strongly for a lower seed in the playoffs. This year, I do hope we make the playoffs, no LB team hasn't missed the playoffs 2 years in a row.

I like LB a lot as a coach, but like Bernie, he needs to keep his nose out of trades. Agreed. Larry understands nuances of the game to a microscopic detail, but what good is it when he assembles a group of players that either can't or won't learn from him. Say what you will, but Bernie's teams were most always fun to watch and, while not as savvy a basketball mind, his players bought into what he was selling moreso than it seems Larry's crew is doing with him, and let's face it, aside from the Hawks game, not one game has been enjoyable to watch.
Lord knows I hope I'll wind up eating crow on this, but, at the risk of being a pariah here, I'm going to have to distance myself from ILBIT because honestly, I don't.

It's a 2-way street. You need all stars on your roster in order for everything to come together. I can't compare the LB led Piston teams to the Bobcats because they were better at every position except for maybe center. With that said, we could be the Hornets or Wizards who have all stars on their rosters and yet still find themselves on the wrong end of blow outs. I'm almost at the point where I would take AI b/c it just can't get any worse on offense. Will Memphis waive him is the question?
