All we need a a quality SG that can defend and score
When Bell is playing well we don't have issues - All during the second part of last year and in the Atlanta game you saw this as well when he is on we win handily or are at least competitive with most anyone. When his shot is off or he is out we are F'ed royally. Even my wife who know next to nothing baout the game said the same thing.
Sure we have bad contracts (Diop, Nazzy, etc) and we would benefit from a solid backup PF but that is not the quick fix to our issues. We need a SG who can score reliably and defend reasonably well and we will be a .500 team - pure and simple. I love bell but he has too much mileage on him and his shot has become inconsistent and his reliability is off. Wallace can't shoot well enough to keep the defense honest and Ray is too streaky and should be moving the ball anyway
LB - Please do what you have to do to get us a SG. I love DJ but he is probably our only real asset to be packaged with someone else and get us a SG in here who can be 80% the defended Bell is and that can light up the scoreboard. Get us that and leave the rest of the team alone (Other than telling Diop to get lost) and we are a solid team moving forward.
We can yell, tinker, do whatever we want to do but it won't change anything to address our offensive inefficiencies. Just get us a scorer and defender at the 2 slot to stretch the defense, put points on the board and allow us some options and lets start winning. If we have to commit to Felton long term and let DJ go as an asset to move then so be it, we must have a scorer at the 2 spot. I would say even move GW but he just does too many other things well and is the heart of this team - unfortunately shooting the ball is not one of them
i have said this all summer during the great ai debate. the only problem is no body in the league who you speak of that doesn't come with a huge pricetag (which we can't trade for could you imagine a vlad, diop/nazzy and dj deal for ray allen). i can't think of any (and believe me i have tried) mid priced knockdown shooting 2 guard who is still capable on defense and can put the ball on the floor. we don't have the assets to make too many good trades.

I wonder if we could get JRich for Diaw and Bell? Maybe the Suns would throw in Dudley too? :P

I think you're dead on. A consistent, reliable scorer who's above average on defense will do this team wonders. Aside from the turnovers (which is possible to fix), I think the biggest thing that hurts the offense isn't exactly the low scoring, but the big scoring droughts they suffer. It's tremendously difficult for this team to come back from a 20-5 run. Having someone to bust up those runs would solve a lot of offesnive issues.

Bobcats need a pf and sg. Move Wallace, D.J. and a Big for a stud power forward and stud shooting guard. Gerald Wallace is a third option on a playoff team. Sure he plays hard but he also disappears late in games. He could average 7 assists a game if he ever kicked the ball back out. Anyway, include Radman or diaw as well. If only the Rockets didn't match the offer for Carl Landry all the cats would need is a SG.

If he did that I'd not bitch again about having to watch the team on illegal streams.
Well, yeah I will...but at least I'd have a reason to want to see them vs. now.

Why are people still talking about trading our best players. They aren't going to trade DJ since they believe he is this teams Future PG and Wallace is this team. I would much rather have Wallace then any random name you can throw out. Since neither of them brings a superstar to this team like a Wade or Lebron, It's silly to keep talking about trading them for lesser players

Most know DJ has value and this team needs scoring big time. Though DJ has no where near the value you think. DJ will be lucly to ever be a starter. And he will never be the face or future of any team in the NBA. He does have trade value though . It has nothing to do with Felton . He can't be traded this year. So its no need to knock on Felton .I would be ready to trade him over DJ if that could happen. Felton in any other year would have more value.
I would even let DJ go for a loto pick next year . Really DJ don't have that kind of value.

realistically, isn't that what hendo was brought in to do and why he was drafted? he is a rook and from what i've seen has an uphill battle to win people over ( so many knock his nba ability vs. college ability). honestly though, he's a solid defender, athletic, has ups and is a sg. he needs to round out his perimeter game and being able to release wherever....basically going from a player, to a shooter. it's not going to happen overnight, but i'd rather him learn under bell and hold onto dj augustin. we all know the dj vs. lopez debate, and i'd hate to lose dj in a deal to get a player that essentially replaces another top-end draft pick in henderson. to the point of the op, our lack of consistency at sg is a main reason why we are struggling, so i agree that the play at that position needs to be stabilized in order to succeed. i'd prefer to see what we've got in henderson or at least bring him along to eventually be that "guy" that we are going to trade for.

Augustine is really a nonfactor hear . Unless hes traded, Signing Flip even at 2.2 milion may be a large mistake. I agree Henderson a lotrry pick needs the burn Flip is geting. If we would have took that 2.2 milion early a signed a power foward . It might have made a differance now though i kinda of doudt . We did make Bass a offer and he turned it down . I have no idea what kind of money was involved. Likely about 2.2 milion
Henderson and Brown both need burn, They sure not hurting the team.

Drastic moves need to be taken...
DJ or Felton needs to be traded for a good back up and draft picks...
Bell and his injuries needs to go...
Diaw and his turn overs need to go...
Radman and Diop need to go....
Naz needs to start over TC...
Lex, Hendo and Brown need to play a hell of a lot more....
Flip? who knows I'm flabbergasted from all this...
We are maybe looking at what needs to be the teams first blow up...:(

My point exactly Gerald Wallace is the best player on this team and as long as that is the case this team will not be in the playoffs. As far as DJ not being a starter the same was said about one Steve Nash hell the Mavericks refused to sign him long term. This is his second year he will make significant progress this season and next season will tell the story. I felt the same way here in Houston about Aaron Brooks he couldn't defend or do anything right now he is a hell of a point guard. The LB style of play doesn't fit this team we got a glimpse of what can be on the fast break with D.J and Hendo. Hell even Felton and GW. Hell let's run and get some easy damn buckets. Anyway, dangle D.J. out there and I bet there will be no shortage of interest. If the bobcats wouldn't have drafted him(which came out of the blue since he didn't even workout for them) he would be the starting point guard in Portland a team that fits his style of play. DJ and Gerald henderson have the same agent I can see them getting at him to express being disgruntled especially when your getting your ass kicked and not playing in 30 point blow outs. I see a trade very possible including DJ. Who knew Tyson chandler would be such a non factor?

You are right. I say we trade Bell, Brown, Diop and a 2nd to Golden State for S Jax and Ant Randolph. Both players are upset with Nellie and as it looks he isn't going anywhere so something has to give. They get an expiring in Bell, an up and coming player in Brown, Diop for us dealing with Jax and his contract and a second to smooth everything over. This isn't to far fetched as it seems because Golden State is going to have to give alittle to get something for getting rid of Jax. We gain a consistent score at about 16 a night with defense and maybe a backup 4.
I would not trade Brown period...and Jackson does not want to be here...no team should bring in a vet player that has made clear...very clear that he does not want to come to that team...as in...see the mess he is making with GS because he does not want to be there...
It is one thing to end up with a problem player but why ask for it?

Melo, Joe Johnson, Wade, Ray Allen, Rip Hamilton,... You left out the most realistic option of them all......Chris Paul. Maybe it's my dementia, or the fact I've seen the dude play ball since he whipped my alma mater's ass (go, Black Knights!) twice a year while he was at West Forsyth, and then go to school a few miles north at Wake, but I think he's the only star player we have a snowball's chance of ever getting to come here. Three summers ago, when he was back here, I ran into him and planted the idea in his mind of coming here, and he said it's be cool to play for the Cats. Of course, he was just being polite, and it is still, what two years away til his contract's up, but I really think it's a decent possibility.

Very good point, we need someone who's primary job is to place the ball in the basket every night. Until that person arrives it will be a struggle every night.

It's a sacrafice that LB has to be willing to make. With AI you have to put up with his bad shots, poor defense, and attitude (if he's not getting those minutes). With Cap'n Jack you have to put up w/ his bad shots and attitude, he has always been a good/great defender so that's a plus. But if he doesn't want to be here there is no point in entertaining that option.

There is no perfect solution...we have to deal with something. But I'd rather deal with a bitch than a bad team. Which for the record, I don't think we are.

The entire reason on why we drafted Hendo was to develop him into a SG. From what I've seen of Hendo, he's got craploads of potential. I am almost certain that he will continuously improve throughout his career, and I think that he will be a great starter for us in the future. In one to two years time, Hendo will be a great SG for us. Plus, with Bell mentoring him (one of the best perimeter defenders in the league), he should improve not only on offense, but on defense. The kid averaged 16 points a game when he was at Duke, he can surpass that if he gets the playing time, experience and confidence to become the focal point of our offense here.

I agree. The Cat's problems won't be fixed by wheeling and dealing. They have to hit on a draft pick, and that may take some time.
They have a big man that can come off the pick and roll and hit a 3, and one that is an alley-op waiting to happen, they have a SF to throw at the other teams best defender and make the hustle plays, and they have two PGs that can come off of the pick and drive the ball to the hole. All they need is that SG that takes the big shots and stretches the floor for the rest of the team, but outside of a dominant center, that is probably the hardest type of player to find without giving too much up or overpaying (and the Bobcats don't even really have those options).

It's not that we don't want S-Jax..........he just doesn't want to play here and can anyone really blame him.We need a true 20ppg scorer an upgrade from Raja anyone interested in Rip Hamilton?
We are not going to the playoffs honest to God truth if we keep Raja(keeps getting injured and we all know we can't do it without him) and pray that Gerald Wallace will come around offensively, believe Diaw can get us 18-20 per night and Felton suddenly becomes Billups.
I think there is a point in time when fans...FO...Coach...all understand that you can't "trade your way" out of bad decisions..,
We have the team we have because LB wanted to make these changes...all of them? I don't know about that but certainly the ones last year are on him...now...we'd better find out if we have any talent going forward from these last two drafts or are we really screwed...
I do not want to see another crappy trade and that is what I consider all the trades we made last year...at best crappy...I have nothing against Raja or Diaw other than the fact that Raja is about at the end and Diaw will never be anything more than he is...were they worth a starting SG and a solid bench player and switching second round picks...you decide but I know how I feel about the trade (then and now)...
You think we've "improved" with the Vlad and Diop trades...I don't think so since it has left no cap wiggle and is very questionable about helping the team...
If there is any trade made it had better be obvious to everyone that it improves the team....but at this point I'd really rather find out if we have any talent from the last two drafts...I think we do and I'd rather see them developed than make more crappy trades...

We certainly did improve with the Vlad trade. Shannon wasn't working out for us which was a shame, good hustle player. Plus, we were paying Ammo quite a bit, and he brought absolutely nothing to the court, except maybe 2 points a game and alot of misses. So we got rid of SB who wasn't working out for us, and got rid of a useless player, and got a player who can somewhat score points. So in that respect, yes, the Vlad trade was good.
I didn't like the Diop trade one bit. When we needed to score, they brought in a defensive centre with almost no scoring game whatsoever, period.
