Yeoman beat man Sam Amick of the Sacramento Bee reports the Kings are mulling a trade offer from the Hornets (http://www.sacbee.com/static/weblogs/sports/kings/archives/2009/11/kings-consideri.html) that would send high-priced center Emeka Okafor (http://nba.fanhouse.com/players/emeka-okafor/3819) to Sacramento in exchange for roleplaying, aging forward Kenny Thomas (http://nba.fanhouse.com/players/kenny-thomas/3345). K-9 has looked spry in early action for the Kings (http://nba.fanhouse.com/team/kings), but his best attribute is his $8.7 million expiring contract. Okafor is on the books through the 2013-14 season.

New Orleans acquired Okafor this summer, committing a grip of cash long-term in the process. The Hornets (http://nba.fanhouse.com/team/hornets) sent Tyson Chandler (http://nba.fanhouse.com/players/tyson-chandler/3512) -- an expensive center himself, but on a much shorter contract -- to Charlotte in the deal, which came several months after the Hornets tried to unload Chandler for a package of expiring contracts amid the throes of a playoff chase. Chandler, however, failed his physical with the Thunder (http://nba.fanhouse.com/team/thunder), reversing the trade.

The mainstream media called us out for only being able to get Tyson Chandler, but the only thing the Hornets can get for Okafor is KENNY THOMAS? A guy who hasnt played in like 3 years? I know this is all for economics but still, you have to be able to do better than that.

Why would the Hornets ev3n want to do that?

Man, if I was the Kings, I'd jump all over that. I mean, their starting center is Sean May.

If I recall after the first game they kicked Sean May off starting center. I don't blame them. I'm also amazed that Sean May managed to get off the ground to get a highlight block some time this season, surprising air time for such a big...big...ever so big man.

I think they are doing it (as I would and any other NBA team needing a center) because they see a chance to rob the Hornets...same thing would happen to us if we "blow up" this team...we will be robbed plain and simple...

He lasted a few games as the C, but not very long.

This trade is pretty strange. Makes me wonder if the Hornets are preparing to lose or trade Paul.
