I thought we'd been down this road? I want to see the kid play and succeed in the NBA. Larry won't trust him until he knows how to play. He's got talent and size but little else. He just hasn't played enough ball for it to work for him right now so this is probably a good move but I'm still bristled about it.
I can't say it is a real surprise...he does have talent but seems absolutely lost in the defensive schemes...something the team can't afford...coupled with the angst of extending him this may his last chance to show he "gets it"...a very wasted pick IMO...

I just cant believe LB threw away a future 1st rounder for him. Bad gamble.

Well what is he suppose to learn in the D league? Why isn't he playing, He didn't look that bad to me. I think LB is just being an asshole when it comes to Ajinca. The man isn't going to learn anything or get better playing scrubs in the minors. Ajinca is the back up PF this team needs but he's not good enough for LB? He's rather play an undersized Derrick Brown then play Ajinca. LB picked him so anything after that is on Larry Brown shoulders not Ajinca's

We got less picks than captain hook with a wedgie

Kat...that pick is 100% on LB and it simply was a bad pick...UPS is getting the time because he has more skill and a much higher BB IQ than AA...
AA going to the D-League at least gets him court time...and with his minuscule BB IQ that will only help...and yes we need a back-up PF for unfortunately that is not AA at this point in time...maybe never...

UPS is already miles ahead of Lexy as far as development go. The two aren't even comparable.
As for Lexy, there were countless other routes we could've taken that I'd be more happy with.
Courtney Lee, George Hill, Nick Batum, Donte Green, Joey Dorsey, DeAndre Jordan (the guy I was allllll about), Prince Luke, and CDR were all picked lower and I would gladly trade Lexy for any of them right now
Swedd...I'd take you over him right now...LOL...seriously...for what "could have" been an outstanding draft...it was anything but that year...damned shame but if Rod controlled out last one more power to him...

Lol I'll gladly play for the minimum dude. I have NBA three range and I'm a hound on D, God knows they need some shooters.
Swedd...I have little doubt (compared to Lexy) you'd be an upgrade...LOL

I said this on another post the other day about him going to the D-league, I saw it on his Facebook page. Looking at some of Lexi's comments he wasn't happy. Seeing some of the comments from him tells me he's frustrated and complains a lot. I've seen a couple comments where he's complaining about having early practices and having a long day. I'm sure Larry sees that attitude as well and I'm sure that doesn't help Lexi's case. Hopefully Lexi can turn it around and mature a little because I think he does have a lot of potential.

A future first rounder AND the first rounder we used to select him. Just brutal.

Me likey this. :cheers1:
I've been in denial about AA being a wasted pick and had hope after him bulking up this past off season. I forget what stage is after denial, but I'm thinking it's acceptance..... which is where it's at with him. Two first rounders really hurts, but oh well, if Brown turns out to be the real deal, then I guess the value in that pick eases the pain. Rather focus on the bright spots than the dark with this season and I'm feeling good about this season after a slow start.

It's that attitude that's sinking him with LB. No matter his potential if he has that kind of lazy thinking.

Ajinca does have a crap attitude. I personally would LOVE to play for the NBA, especially Bobcats. AA is clearly in the wrong place if he hates waking up early for practice, because I know I would love every minute of playing NBA basketball. UPS has gotten so good because of practice. Same with Hendo. AA isn't putting as much effort as UPS into practice, and that's why UPS is starting over AA. Kobe wasn't all pure talent. It was hard work. KD35 said that "Hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work." AA is talented athletically, so is UPS but UPS has a much better attitude and mindset when it comes to practice. Kid thrives on it. That's why I have recently found a new "love" for UPS.
I officially have lost ALL faith I had in AA. I now abandon him to the hounds of the D-league, and will only consider take him back into the fold if he improves and actually fixes his attitude.
Hard work definitely pays off...and no way I belittle it in any way...but talent and hard work aside...the guy (Lexy) does not have the kind of BB IQ that allows you to skate in any way...practice helps...and even game time helps (even D-League game time)...but his crap attitude (and it is the same kinda thing Diaw came into the league with and why I've never liked him...and no it is not a French thing...Parker and Turiaf work their asses off) is going to quickly end any NBA career because he seems unwilling to work for it...and you know...I just don't get that...there are literally millions of guys world-wide that would love to have this opportunity and work their asses off...what a waste...

For all the 80's/90's kids here, I compare Ajinca to the Power Glove for the Nintendo...you had to have it...absolutely had to...sometimes you saved up a ton for it. Once you got it, you found out it was an overhyped piece of junk

Coach Larry Brown's description of why Ajinca was sent to Maine was uncharacteristically abrupt: "Not playing." So I asked Brown to elaborate: "He's got to get some confidence. He's playing great in practice, and when he gets in a game (his minutes are) spotty at best. That's why you have the D-League."
Doesn't seem like a big deal to me, but I think the d-league is useful. Lex wasn't getting minutes on his French team because they were desperate to win. He doesn't get minutes on the Bobcats for the same reason. The only way to tell if he has any possibility of success is to actually see him playing against similar competition, something that the d-league can offer.
bing!

It's so BAD (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZErvASwdlU)
As for AA, I've nothing of value to add (and neither does he  ).

When I heard we had the 20th pick in that draft, I had hoped we would take Lopez & Chalmers (if available).....man oh man, I would take those two over DJ & AA anyday, and anyone who wouldn't is completely full of it.

I still have my Power Glove. I cut the cord off and used to wear it at school. Still have my Nintendo, Duck tap still on the lid, 20 + yrs and holding on for dear life.
It's amazing we went from Pong to Halo in about 25 yrs, Whats next?
