View Full Version : Come up with a trade for Chris Bosh

With the Raptors season already in the toilet it looks like Bosh is headed elsewhere at the end of the year. Eventually they are going to look to get something for him rather then lose him for nothing. There record is already getting to the point were they might as well start tanking.

Make a trade for Bosh that does NOT INCLUDE GERALD WALLACE. The trade can include any other players as long as it works. Keep in mind the Raptors will want young tallent, draft picks, and may seek to move overpaid vets who no longer fit into a rebuilding plan such as turkey-glue.

It does not matter if Bosh is not willing to sign long term. Even if we just get a one year rental we can at least go after another top free agent when he takes off.

It does "matter" if he will not sign long term after giving all your young talent (plus more) to get him in a trade...you end up without a team...

I think it would matter in regards to him being a one year rental.

First, I think we'd have a hard time keeping Crash out of the deal, esp. since we don't have a 1st to trade, but if we did they'd probably want Jax, DJ and TC (give them a lineup of TC/Bargs/Turk/Jax/Caleron & DJ) and make us take Banks. That would leave us with Nazr/Bosh/Crash/Flip/Felton. Not too bad...but then say Bosh leaves (and he would). We'd be looking at 43 million in salary for:

Banks
Henderson
Crash/UPS
Boris/Jinx
Nazr/Gana

If we re-sign Felton then we're within 4-5 million of the cap...and we'd have to take care of him first one way or the other because of his caphold.

IMO that makes us worse off than we were at the start of this season unless UPS/Hendo REALLY step up and develop.

I doubt we'd get away without sending either Hendo or UPS...making it an even worse deal for us...and a terrible one year rental...I'd love to have Bosh but he'd just cost us too much...

I think the player the raptors would want is Diaw who Bryan Colangelos has always liked. How about one of these three trades:

1.Charlotte out: Diaw, Diop

Toronto out: Bosh

2. Charlotte out: Diaw, Narz

Toronto out: Bosh

3. Charlotte out: Diaw, Brown, Ajinca, DJ, AC Law

Toronto out: Bosh

The third is probably the most realistic which would give us a starting lineup of:

Chandler/Naz/Diop
Bosh/Chandler
Wallace/Hendo
Jackson/Hendo
Felton/Flip

If Bosh would sign long term I would do that in a heartbeat.

I doubt the Raptors do any of those trades without a first round pick...and already paying 16 guys...I don't think they do a 1 for five? Without giving them Crash or Jax (which I would not do) I doubt you do a deal for Bosh...just my opinion...

They have Bargs at the 4 & Turk at the 3 and are committed to both. That's why I think it'd have to be Jax & TC along with some value contracts to them and some type of salary dump (Banks) to us.

the raptors's fans would physically riot at the first game that trade was announced. right now they only risk losing bosh, why would they want any salary attached to our trash players on their payrolls. they are moving bosh for talent and/or multiple #1's period.

here's a crazy 3 team deal: we don't get bosh but are set for this year and have less salary next year

Char out:
Diop 6mil x 3
Boris 9 mil x 2
Char #2

Char in:
Boozer 12 mil x 1
Reggie Evans 4.9 mil x 2

Utah out:
Harpring 6.5 mil x 1
Boozer 12.3 mil x 1
NY #1

Utah in:
Bosh 15 mil x 1
Diop 6 mil x 3

Toronto out:
Bosh and Evans

Toronto in:
Diaw and Harpring, Char #2, NY #1

Our lineup
Felton
jax
crash
boozer/evans/ups
naz/tc

might get us into the 2nd round. our team d makes up for boozer, not like diaw plays stellar d anyway.

who knows, he may resign?

I just dont think its worth it to trade anyone for Bosh. He clearly wants to go to a big market team after this year so we would be trading players and draft picks to get Bosh for less then a season. The only way this would be a good move is if Bosh signed an extension to stay here past the year which I just dont see happening

Ok can someone now come up with a "Don't come up with a trade for Chris Bosh" thread

Maybe we should stop coming up with trade ideas altogether. Everytime i look at the new idea its some fantasy driven or highly complicated mumbo jumbo that would never happen.

I know we all like to dream and create our perfect team but lets save that for the video games.

One big difference to consider is that Bosh in any economy will get a max contract. If we traded for him this season, he would almost certainly be a sign and trade candidate in order to ensure that 6th year and max raises. Someone like Boozer, who will not get a max contract, may walk and end up being a rental. But Bosh would almost certainly be parlayed into assets at least.

TBH I would love either Bosh or Boozer to come. Both are great players, and double double threats. Boozer can light it up, as can Bosh. However, I think trading for Bosh is stupid, since he'll probably walk next season for F/A, and BJ is too scabby to not offer him a big deal.

KG to the Celtics was a video game trade, that did not stop it from happening

'Bobs...I for one think any trade is possible...I also think their GM will not take garbage from us...so any "trade" you think of will have to start with Crash or Jax...and we can't afford any trade that starts with Crash or Jax...

I agree with that... we need to convince a team to take one of our point gaurds a center and a wing for a good player not crash or jax...

Why does everyone think Bosh would leave? Guy wants to get paid, if we can offer him the most he'd stick around. He's only 25, he has time to take a 5 or 6 year max deal with a team that isn't a contender and chase rings afterward.

FWIW, I would do anything to get a player of Bosh's caliber onto the franchise. He's the type of talent that changes around fortunes.

Because he's sick of losing and wants to win.

He holds the cards. With the cap going down any team who holds his Bird Rights won't let him walk as the space most likely wouldn't help them get a similar player in FA...so odds are strong he'll be S&T. This means he'll get that extra 30 million or so regardless of where he plays. If that's the case then why play with Crash when you can play with Flash?

I don't think this happens, but don't you think we'd be pretty successful if we trade DJ and Diaw for Bosh? Would a playoff run be enough to keep him around?

I doubt it. The 'ship would be a lot stronger pull...and there's nothing we can put beside him like Miami could. There's also the darkhorse of some teams being able to add 2 max FAs (Lebron & Bosh in NY, with Flash in Chicago).

It would have to be something like Augustin/Diaw/Wallace for Bosh/bad contract for Toronto to actually consider this.
