If we lose to the Nets and become their first 'W', we should ALL suffer, Right? :g:

...end up reading hundreds of posts about how we should have drafted Lopez over DJ...oh wait, I'll end up reading those posts either way.

There is no way we should lose to the Nets. Period.

The Law of Averages?

And I'm sure the Lakers say that every time we play them. Lets hope the Celtics win made them hungry.

I would believe we would win. Nets have a good team. Great up and coming players with Yi and Lopez. Douglas-roberts is also good. Only problem is that they're injured like crazy.

If we lose to the Nets and become their first 'W', we should ALL suffer, Right? :g: Definitely think you should do it if they lose. Still, I have a bad feeling and think it's 50/50. I mean, it's not like we're road warriors or anything, and like jdub28 says, the law of averages will eventually kick in....they will get a win, and the Cats look like a good candidate I have to say.

Of course, if they just play hard, I think that'll be enough to win, but you never know with those whacky Bobcats. I mean really, only a Bobcats fan would dread facing an 0-19 team.....:(

Yes, If we give the 1st win to the humiliatingly bad Nets, We all have to share in that disgrace. IMO, Ziggy it's a good idea. Have faith fellow BCP posters, The Nets suck.

Down with Terrence Williams!!!

Why am I so nervous about this one? Is it because the Nets are due to play at least 1 really good game this year? They are an NBA team with good players. They have to play at least 1 really good game. And it just sends chills up my spine that it could be tonight.

Im looking at their roster half of them are on the last year of their contract. that may play a little in their play. little motivation to play for a sinking ship franchise. their is no way they could pull lebron or wade. maybe bosh someone else. their future looks dim. too bad jay-z

I would give up two other games just to win this one. Didn't we narrowly win one at home vs the nets already this year. You know they are saying this is the Bobcats we can get this. The streak ends tonight.

Brook Lopez may have nice offensive moves but he is super slow and I am glad we didn't pick him. I didn't want DJ either but I still don't want Slowpez. If he was a super hero he would be Slow Motion Man. He is so slow that Gana Diop could beat him in a race!

Who were all the folks who talked shit about Lopez?.... yeah....

Lopez is a great player. I wish I would've stuck to my guns when he started being projected as falling to us, but I thought Okafor was a better fit (especially with LB coming into the fold) and that Felton was a bigger question. I don't think we have a piece that would net Lopez and I refuse to believe that DJ will turn out as badly as the Morrison and May selections since he had a pretty good rookie year and hasn't been awful in every game this year, but I guess I've had pretty meh expectations for the Bobcats so I'm not as disappointed as some.

BRNC
12-05-2009, 02:23 AM
Well Walt...DJ was never going to be the defensive PG that Ray is...so I'm baffled as to why LB drafted him...and I agree he is not a bad player...but I doubt he becomes a really good player until we trade him...

Drafting the best player on the board (and arguably that was Lopez) that was a big would have allowed us to trade him (or EO50) for a PF...

There were two back-up quality PGs in that draft later...Hill and Chalmers...with a PG loaded draft the following year that was very light on "bigs"...the mistake was made by MJ for giving in to LB...but I'll also add...LB has a way of making players look (and play badly) that he does not wish to play...at this point (and has always been a point for me) is : Will this team actually get better with LB as the Coach...or is he always going to gripe that he does not have the "right players"...even if he picked those players that he gripes about? Frankly, LBs dog and pony show wore out on me before he got here...I still think he is an outstanding teacher...but that is it...

Even if we do pull out a playoff seed I stand by this...I just don't think he is/ever was the correct coach...and I'd goes as far as saying that if Bernie had been kept as coach (just not GM) then we already would have passed the "most wins in a season" with more wins last year...FHB set us back a year...LB (last year) was not that much better...and what I mean by that is this...we still need a PF (and I really will not argue Diaws' short comings any longer) which is exactly what we needed when LB got here...

The bench is better but that could have happened with Bernie here two more years...so what exactly has LB made better...Crash is some better...but he is also two more years in the League...Ray is some better but he also is playing his position (finally) and has better talent around him...at least with Bernie the team always played hard...now...I really don't know what the problem is...but it is not all on the players with me...something is going on and I'll admit I don't know what it is...but something...:g::facepalm::g:

I don't want to play draft do-over. I didn't bring up anything about LB here, though and I'd prefer to stay away from that topic since we all know he's not going anywhere until he decides to. FWIW, we're on the same page about Bernie; I think he would've been a fine coach or gm, but having both jobs set us back.

DJ is a talented player in a shooting slump. His defense is very bad, but I think he can improve... LB should help. I'll admit to being a long time DJ fan, but everyone that has given up on him will probably be happy soon, I get the feeling he's going to be shipped out soon. Be careful what you wish for, though... the terror filled rein of McMinus was not so long ago.

Netsplanet.....LOL. Don't know why, I mean, it was a disgusting loss, but I guess it's either laugh or cry and I'll be damned if I'm shedding any tears so....

I wonder if Boris makes it back to Charlotte in one piece, or will Larry, GW, Jack and others throw him from the plane somewhere over Pennsylvania or Maryland? If his ankle's bothering him that bad, he doesn't need to play; if his head is that far up his ass, he doesn't need to play. In short, he doesn't need to play, and for that, Larry should take some of the blame while he let Derrick collect dust on the bench. But still, quite a weak effort from a guy who's given quite a few weak efforts this season, especially considering how tough his fellow starters played.

And then there's DJ not getting any minutes? Wow. All this and Larry's postgames comments are making me think there's another big trade in the winds. Whether it happens or not, who knows, but the vibes coming from Larry are reminiscent of pre-Jack, but I don't know that there's anyone even available. Anyhow, interesting game Saturday to be sure....and until then, I'm proud to be a member of Netsplanet!!!!

Felton and Diaw did not play good down the stretch

Should of given UPS burn instead (lazy to check whether he was on active list/inactive list). He would have done much better than whatever Diaw was attempting to do (can he even block a shot?)

Felton and Diaw did not play good down the stretch

Other than fouling Harris when he shot that 3 pointer I thought Felton had a stellar game. One screwup in 36 minutes don't = did not play good down the stretch.

Edit:

And QCH says it was a "dubious" call:

Time for the dubious call: Devin Harris gets three free throws by jumping near Raymond at the top of the arc and falling down (reminds me of D.J. Augustin getting the call on Derrick Rose last year in Chicago to send that game to OT). Harris makes them all to make it a 7 point game (and with just 1:25 left, that is quite a hurdle for these offensively challenged Cats).

I didn't see it that clearly.

Raymond Felton had a stellar game. He has had a good streak of solid games. To say he did not play well down the stretch is really stretching it.

Felton scored or assisted on fourteen straight points down the stretch. Scored eleven and assisted on Jackson's game tying three.

I don't get it... LB on numerous occasions says he understands that the team is at it's best when he can play the bench more (when he trusts it)... the fact that UPS and DJ got 0 minutes with Diaw and Flip playing so badly just makes no sense at all.

Walt...I totally agree with you here...but let me remind you of this...with LB it is not the fickleness of the fans...it is LBs inability to develop players over the long term...it is his fickleness...not ours...and as far as wishing...

I wanted Jax...we have him...and I'm glad we do...I'm beginning to have confidence in Rod...I have no (limited) confidence in LB...but getting an upgrade at PF for Diaw and DJ...I'll admire Rod if he can pull that off...

...and for LB...I'm the one that posted on the fire/not fire LB post that LB would decide when he leaves...no one else...and that is that...

what the hell is up with our free throw shooting? Especially Flip - if your only role on the team is to be a shooter/scorer, how do you miss 75% of your free throws?

I'm with you on the laugh vs cry thing...Besides, there's another one tongiht, so no use in getting too caught up in what happened last night.

Boris is just killing me with his lack of effort. It's as if he realizes he's in a basketball game, but he's not really sure what he should make of that fact. LB's comments about one player lacking energy and effort were clearly aimed at him. Again, I'm you with you on the imminent trade feeling. I imagine within two or three weeks, Mr. Diaw will be sporting a new uni.

I did throw up in my mouth a little. but it was a horrible loss, they were due however. i mean this game wont matter 2 months from now. we still need more gel time, and a post body to be the team we want to be
