Nocioni stepped on his foot...twisted his ankle.
what i'm really hoping is that it isnt the same kind of ankle injury i had last school semester playing IM basketball...it hurt of course when i first got it and i had the same reaction that wallace had basically when he went down, but with the adrenaline i played through another 20 minute half relatively okay...
but then i was out for basically the whole semester since it was a sharp lingering pain and i couldnt push off of that foot at all anymore and didnt play for the rest of the season. wallace is 10000 times tougher than me though so i'm hopin he'll be fine.
yea i figured flips miss was by design and potentially to have a long rebound go out to felton ;) but a miss is a miss...and it was with less than 2 min to go, so flip might still hafta go through the punishment set by the pact unless they make an amendment to the pact hahah
According to Rochinski it's a left ankle sprain.
whew whatever, got the win. Give Gerald some ice and sit him on the couch till tipoff Wednesday please
I jinxed Crash with my 'Icarus' comment on another thread... I'm gonna go chop my arm off.
Wow.
Close close game.
Felton played well, although near the end he was getting beaten pretty badly by Evans, but for the most part he did well.
Good things to note:
-We won without relying on Jax. Jax had a poor night, but we stayed competitive.
-Crash destroyed everyone
-Felton almost Triple Double
-UPS got playing time
Bad things:
-Crash and his ankle
-Too many Points in the Paint
-Flip+Graham combine for 39 minutes. Seriously? Where's the Hendo love?
The Bobcats are playing tight, tough and intense defense right now. They've been working extremely hard.
But that toughness depends on the refs letting them play. On any given night, the Cats physical defense can be marginalized by manipulative officials.
I really got the feeling that today's group, led by Dick Bavetta and Haywoode Workman predetermined that Jax would take a seat early, and the Cats wouldn't get off Scot-free with close D. It almost worked. By the 4th quarter Jax had lost his intensity (why bother?), and Crash was hurt.
We still got the W, despite that; with the help of a terrible late goaltending call in the Cats favor. Sometimes I think the NBA's most senior refs are the worst.
We played a nice tough game,we got a little flashy which could of hurt us.We shouldn't be worried about Crash...it looked like just a little sprain just give him some rest and he'll be alright.I've been super impressed with UPS as of late but like some of you guys have said,we really need to see more of Henderson...some big games coming up...let's do work...
Toocool Flip was on Evans thru a lot of that, esp. when Udrih was in the game (I even commented in the GT that it was time to switch them up)...and I don't think Martin even played in the 4th quarter. That being said I don't think Felton would have held him down if he'd been on him all night...that dude is pretty darn impressive.
Felton is getting a lot of love for his 4th quarter play though. I think this one can be added to that Knicks game where we would have lost if it hadn't been for him.
According to Bonnell Crash has also been dealing with a hamstring. I'll be amazed if he's good to go vs Miami.
Who else besides me...if they were Larry Brown...would have been at Crash's bedroom window this AM tapping on the glass saying..."how's the ankle?"?
