I'm about 2 days away from finishing up 'One Second After'. Does anyone have any Sci-Fi that they would recommend?
Alternating between Baltimore, or the Stedfast Tin Soldier and the Vampire by Mike "Helboy" Mignola and Chris Golden, Keeper by Greg Rucka, and Musashi by Yoshikawa.
I've never been able to enjoy reading multiple books at a time. Whenever I've attempted it, characters and storylines started to blend together.Quote:

One Second After sounds good. So does World War Z. What are some others ones I should look at?
On a similar Post-Apocalyptic vibe, I would recommend "Lucifer's Hammer". The first 1/4 of the book is a little slow but the final 3/4 is great.Quote:

It's my ADHD to blame. I just tend to always look up from what I'm reading and say, 'Hey, I'd like to get into that,' and off I go picking up that book. Besides those three I listed, there's like 4 or 5 others that still need to be finished off some time. Plus, my comic books, graphic novels, and manga distract me too.Quote:

I'm currently about 1/3 of the way through a book called The Last Message.
The premise of this story is that a cube with strange markings is delivered to the UN. The cube is made of an element that no one can identify and to make it worse it doubles in weight at the same time each day while remaining the same size. When it was delivered it weighed something like 140 pounds, at my current location in the book its weight has increased to over 2 million pounds. Scientists, Physicists, Biologists are studying it to determine what it is, where it came from and if the daily doubling of weight can be stopped.
If the weight continues to double it will eventually get so heavy that it will sink into the earth's core causing catastrophes... and after that it will get so heavy that the earth will collapse upon itself.
That's what I'm reading :biggrin:
Taras Bulba by Nikolai Gogol. Pretty different from his other stuff I've read. Not really enjoying it as much either.
All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy. Not that original a choice on my part I guess, but whatever, I like it.
I'll have to check out the books you guys are reading. Some of them sound quite good.
