He is, you're right. He may not be much better than UPS; it may have just been a salary thing with UPS. Or maybe they prefer a vet 3/4 to help out the young guys at those spots. Or maybe this is a professional courtesy for his agent. I'm not over the moon about him, but I do think Gomes would be a decent pickup if the vet tweener is their thing...and at this point in free agency, I think "decent" is about the best you can hope for.Quote:
