Ryan Gomes is next up to workout for the 'Cats, it seems. Actually wouldn't be a bad addition, I believe.

I don't know what to think about it, got the feeling we're only interested in him cause of his ability to shoot 3's. he showed some potential when he came in to this league, but actually, his first 2 years were the best ones of his career.
He is, you're right. He may not be much better than UPS; it may have just been a salary thing with UPS. Or maybe they prefer a vet 3/4 to help out the young guys at those spots. Or maybe this is a professional courtesy for his agent. I'm not over the moon about him, but I do think Gomes would be a decent pickup if the vet tweener is their thing...and at this point in free agency, I think "decent" is about the best you can hope for.
If nothing else, Gomes knows how to throw a party.

ESPN says we might be one of the 4 NBA teams looking at Pietrus.
Jordan Williams (formerly of the Nets/Hawks) has been waived. He is 6'10" out of Maryland, averaging 4.6 PPG and 3.6 RPG last year. Would you sign him 1-year guaranteed for $900,000 ?

Drama surrounding NBA guard Lester Hudson
Quote:
The agent for NBA free-agent guard Lester Hudson said Hudson is no longer a client after failing to show up for a workout with the Charlotte Bobcats.
Tyler Glass, of Off The Glass Entertainment, responded to reports Hudson had dropped the agency. Instead, Glass told FOX Sports Ohio on Tuesday, it’s the other way around.
“We let HIM go,” Glass said. “It happened about a month ago. He had a workout scheduled with the Bobcats. He didn’t go. He said he didn’t receive his hotel information quickly enough.”

“The Bobcats ended up eating a ticket for $750,” Glass said. “I worked so hard to get him a workout, and he didn’t show. The Bobcats were annoyed and they should have been. They’re a professional organization. You don’t skip out on workouts.”
