Question about stat tracking
Is there a place that lists stats that are, um, more game specific and less mathmatic?
Let me try to explain this question better.
Is there a website that keeps all types of detailed information, game to game, on, say, our Bobcats, that I can go to and look at tendencies and effectiveness?
Where on the floor does Gerald Henderson shoot the highest percentage? Where does he make the most attempts/misses/makes etc.?
When being guarded by a 6'5-6'7 range defender, what is his shooting percentage comparatively to other sizes, and what kind of shots is he taking?
Is he best driving left or right, home or away games?
If Kemba passes to Gerald off a screen on the left side of the basket, at a home game, while being covered by a 6'5 guard, is he more likely to hit from 15 feet, or 18, or should he then drive?
Basically, is there a way to look at all of this stuff and use it to say....
"Henderson, when you are being guarded by Lebron, your highest completion (60%)will come from left baseline between 10-15 feet, and when Augustin passes you gain an extra (5%). Also only do that when Thomas is also playing because for whatever damn reason if anyone else is playing PF you drop 20%
Follow up question: Would these stats be just meaningless coincidence? Or would data from all last year really show us who should pass to whom, be on court with whom, where they should shoot from, and what they should do when certain defenders are on them?
If you can't tell I have a history in baseball analysis, specifically pitching decisions.
