Ye I get you, Iggy hasn't shown he can carry a team and be a superstar
The fact he hasn't shown he can be a superstar as of yet in his career, he's more of a fill in the blanks guy. The more I look at this trade the more I realise with the current squad, Iggy woulda made us a purgatory team. Atleast with MKG we get a prospective Andre with a couple more chances to find the star to carry the team.
Because that franchise center would not have stayed here.. Howard and Bynum are on their final year of their contract, neither would have extended..so, we would basically be renting him. On top of that.. we would give up a possible star in MKG. What would really be a trip is if we did what youre saying and not only did the other team get MKG..but they ended up signing Bynum too.lol.Quote:

the clippers gave up gordon,kamon,aminu ,a 1st rounder and 2 2nd rounders for paul. the nets gave up a derrick favors,devin harris and two first rounders. once again we couldn't have traded kemba, biz, or our 2nd pick or mkg at the time for bynum? its like 8 elite point guards in the lg and 2 elite centers. where is the logic at ? the lakers damn near gave bynum away for iggy , they(lakers) just needed an 3 or 4th team to match contracts and some talent ,so that they can have dwight. the lakers had the luxury of trading no.2(bynum) for no.1(howard). thats the same concept of trading durant for lebron , or paul for rose . just because the lakers made that trade doesn't make bynum any less of an elite player. some professionals(shaq,skip bayless) have bynum better than howard so to disregard bynum is crazy. bynum could of clashed with management, coaches , or kobe could of requested him to be traded , but it wasn't because howard is a better player. you CAN'T make howard an go to post player, he still is very raw and looks goofy with his moves, bynum is a legit go to post player who can guarantee you buckets. howard can get you a few more rebounds or blocks ,but is 2 rebs or 0.3 blocks more than bynum really makes him better ? ya forget bynum avg 19 points with kobe and gasol , bynum avg 12 rebounds a game w/ a legit pf aside of him ,and kobe lead the lg in rebounding guards. do ya really think howard will avg them numbers , when he only avg 20 and 14 as the focal point . howard is great but everyone is getting caught up in the hype and not reality . howard is more fan friendly ,charismatic, and worldly known , u add all that with talent ,then yes u give up an elite player and get one back with more star power, yeah great business move. but it doesn't make the team necessarily better . bynum had injury problems early in his career ok , howard had to have back surgery. players who have came back from back surgery amare'( he haven't been the same since),marvin williams ( not as athletic ),rudy fernandez( not in the lg anymore) larry johnson( we all know what happened to him), scottie pippen is the only exception but players who came back from knee problems and become successful may be the hundreds. so try again.Quote:

MKG is going to be a great player. Bynum is six years older, way more expensive and has had a bunch of knee issues. I know which guy I would go with if I was the owner.
