I don't think Flynn has a place in the league anymore, except as maybe an emergency 3rd guard in case someone gets injured. Williams is way more talented by far, and if Higgins is supposed to be a big guard with the versatility to play 2 positions, then Williams has more versatility to be able to play 3 positions in limited minutes.
Only problem is T-will is a weird ass guy. We've dealt with the enigma known as Boris, and currently have one on the roster with Tyrus. I don't think there's room on the roster for another space cadet, but maybe Dunlap is the kind of guy that can reach these players.
Wouldn't upset me either way if we inquire or not.
Especially since he got injured, Flynn really has fallen off something fierce. If we're looking for 3rd string point guards, Sundiata Gaines was also waived. Granted, he's no world-beater either, but if the choice is Higgins, Flynn or Gaines, I take Gaines. (Or maybe ask what's behind door #4?)
T-Will can run a little point, right??
That's attractive because it allows us to have Henderson and Gordon on the court together, with T-Will guarding the small forward on the other end.
But I don't know enough about his NBA career to form a strong opinion.
Picked Williams up on 2K. Averaging 18 points, 6 assists off the bench as my second highest scorer. OBVIOUSLY that means we should pick him up.
Seriously, what do we have to lose?
Whoever mentioned Flynn no longer having a place in the NBA, i disagree.. Higgins has NO place in it. Flynn is better than Higgins. Lets be honest, guys.. Higgins only plays for the team because of his dad. He wouldnt even fare well in the D-League. Doesnt even average 1 assist a game. MJ, i know you wanna help your buddy and his kid out, but building a winning team should override all of that.
I think that T-Will would be a great addition to the Cats, while Flynn has not played well since his T-Wolve days.
Yes, Higgins sucks. But he's not expected to be anything more than #3 point guard.
Flynn? He can't cut it anywhere. All he has going for him is the fact that he got drafted so high. And even then, most of that was simply because he played in one of the best college games ever. Dude is terrible.
If Higgins has made it this far through camp and the start of the preseason, I wouldn't imagine that they'd get rid of him for equal or slightly better talent when Higgins is likely already in Dunlap-approved shape and has a basic knowledge of the system, not to mention everyone on the team gets along with him.
If we were talking about John Lucas or something, that might be different. Jonny Flynn or Psycho-TWill? Nah, I'd rather not.
