How many players have two DIFFERENT jumpshots they use in a real game?!?
I seriously hope the coaching staff isnt serious about MKG using a different form for 3's.

It's not that you have two different jump shots, it's that the outside shot is more of a set shot and the closer shots are more however you get them off. I think what Dunlap is trying to do is not make him think too much when he's closer to the basket and more effective, but instead build that form on outside shots where you're more likely to have an open look and a second to execute a nice shot. Plus, practicing that shot will begin to pay dividends inside once he gets the form down from outside.
It'as going to be a while before he's a 15ppg producer. With no jumpshot opposing players are going to play off him and not give up the dribble drive.
Just re-watched the game. (Yeah, I need a life)
I can recall 6 of MKG's 7 shots.
1 running one-hand floater near the right block: His only make, with a soft touch.
1 "one man fast break" basket attack which broke down the D and enabled Mullens to come in and dunk the miss.
1 bad-form midrange jumper: Missed
2 rim attacks in the lane where he ran into the defender who leaned into him a bit much. Very easily could have been fouls on the Pacers.
1 fast break rim attack where Gerald Green swatted his shot.
If anybody else can remember what the other shot was, I'd love to hear it.
If MKG had come into the college game with a strong 3-point shot, he might have rivaled Anthony Davis as the top prospect. That's how good he is at so many other things.
anyone else think he should of got at least 5 more mins yesterday ?
I was happy with how things went. I think Dunlap wanted experience and halfcourt offensive abiltiy in there down the stretch. This was basically a "super bowl" game for us, needing to break that awful losing streak and get the fans excited about a new season.
But I say tonight in Dallas give him some of the minutes that Gerald and Tyrus played last night. Depending on matchups.
