He has really good basketball IQ, much advanced for the youngest player in the NBA. Yeah, he gets the rookie treatment from refs but he also gets away with travels a bit (watch his hop steps, very crab dribble-esque). Really nice to see a Bobcat's rookie pan out immediately but I'm curious how well he responds to hitting the rookie wall. He's an integral part of the team so eventually opposing teams are going to have him better scouted when they play us again.
I'm thrilled with his handles, didn't see much of that at UK, and his rebounding as well. If he keeps developing at this rate and we net a stud big in the draft/FA I can thankfully give Cho and Co. a pass for missing out on Drummond.
gotta work on staying out of foul trouble.....
MKG's footwork inside is lightning. That move in the post last night where he left his defender for dust and threw it down really impressed me.
MKG continues to impress...i think last night he had 11 points 8 rbds 4 blocks and 2 steals...and in only 28 minutes....but that last part is the problem...only 28-29 minutes in a double OT game..its becoming a bit unacceptable...its not just a fluke thing it seems to happening on a regular basis...he could easily improve his scoring and rebounding averages if he could stay on the floor...i could very easily see him at 13 points and 9-10 rebounds if he could consistently get 35 minutes....but either way i love his game and his abilty to finish at the hoop is like something i havent seen from any rookie in a very very long time...even though that seems to be his only way of scoring ( taking it to the hoop or getting putbacks ) and teams know thats his only way of scoring..they still cant stop him...i think we definately got our starting SF for the next decade and with him having such a high basketball IQ and tons of heart as well as being such a hard worker im positive he will continue to improve
Really hope he can stay out of foul trouble you're right styles he could easily get better averages if he stayed out of foul trouble....regardless i'm glad we have him love his game so much heart and hustle
MKG's putting up really good numbers and he's still in foul trouble lmao. He'll get it together, and when he does his averages will go higher up..
Gets fouls because he plays intense aggressive defense. Once he finds out who's reffing and how lenient they are with contact we'll see his fouls go down.
