He does feel way better . You are aware he was offered a contract to stay in Charlotte that he turned down right? Two years with next to the worst and then the worst roster maybe ever assembled and a coach sleeping on the bench...lol
DJ is the type of guy that would rather come off the bench for 15 minutes and get 2 points and an assist than have weight of leadership and expectations on his shoulders. I have no doubt he is much happier in his new roleQuote:

I liked him as a player, but if he needs to be given a role he will never be a true star. He was always fun to watch and pleasant in person though and that does mean something.
