How did everyone miss on Lillard?!?!

I just can't believe everyone missed on this kid when it was so obvious (to me anyways) that he was hands down the most complete player in the draft when you consider size, scoring, shooting, polish, athleticism.

I mean him and Davis should have been the first 2 picks, no question.

He lead the summer league in scoring and is keeping pace through 3 games this season. He essentially came into the league as a 20ppg scorer imo with his skill set and offensive game. Give him 2-3 years and he will be one of the best PG's in the league and averaging 25+ppg.

He played for Weber State. That's how.

You might have a point if no one knew of him but that wasnt the case.

What school he plays for has nothing to do with his skill set, frame, and athleticism.

Not to mention all these nba teams got to see him in person in pre draft workouts ect.

How any team that didnt have a franchise PG passed him up is beyond me.

Remember Luke Babbit, he did great at a Div 2 school but he has crashed. It is really hard to see how it translates as the standard is such a high jump

Another of these threads not even a week into the season.
Give it 2 years at minimum, then we can have this conversation.
Just because they're doing well now doesn't mean anything.

Not a good comparison imo

Out gate Babbitt is / was not considered athletic. Has a no step vert of sub 30'

I could only find one highlight vid which was basically only consisted of him shooting 3's and dunks.

Doesnt appear to have a great handle which would limit him breaking his man down off the bounce in one on one situations.

So from the looks of it all your getting is a great shooter which is what he is / has been in the NBA.

On top of that he hasnt even been given a shot to see how much he can produce. Only averaged 10mpg for his career.

Reggie Williams led the NCAA in scoring for two straight seasons ('06-07: 28.1 PPG, '07-08: 27.8 PPG). Following his graduation from VMI, he went undrafted. Then he got picked up by a NBDL team to average 26 PPG against NBA Summer League-like competition. The Golden State Warriors took notice of his strong scoring prowess, and gave him a 10-day contract. Williams averaged 15 PPG off the bench for the Warriors essentially as a rookie. I'm just saying though.

Gay Gay Reddick scored a ton of points. He still was a nonathletic one dimensional player.

PPG are nice, but I tend to focus on skills and athleticism first.
