Not really, but if that's the way you feel then I won't bother trying to change your mind. Different people have different learning curves. Age is just a very small part of the equation.

Jordan's ceiling wasn't effected by being 21 as a rookie. Just like MKG's ceiling wouldn't change if he had stayed in school for another year. Natural ability and work ethic manifests itself in a player's "ceiling" much more than their age does.

I don't know either one of them, but I can assume that they both worked very hard to get to where they are now...I at least know that they worked on their game for 4 years after high school to get to where they are today...this is their 5th year after high school training to reach their maximum potentials...With that said, they are playing at the same high level and are producing nearly the same stats...

Unless you want to say that one works harder or is innately a better basketball player (idk how you can prove that) I choose to rely on what they have done at the same age...It's part of why there is the youngest to score such and such...the list of players who have dominated the game at the age of 21 like Jordan is very short...

I'm not saying age dictates player's actual ceiling...good genes and hard work does...Age helps us in judging what we perceive a players ceiling could be...reread what i wrote...but here let me explain it in another way...had jordan come out of high school at 18 and posted the numbers he did at the age of 21 in his third season...that would still stack up well against anything any other 21 year old has been able to achieve in the league...I woudn't knock him for saying it was his 3rd year in the league...to me, I'd say for a 21 year old, he was great...

In the end there is nothing on the basketball court that either has done to be deemed that much better than the other...if one has the potential to be a star then so does the other...

Kemba is winning a lot of the fans here over...there's only a very few who are hanging onto the 6th man thing. Let his play win them over like it has for the rest of us.

except kemba had a full year and offseason to adjust to nba competition, speed, strength, size and travel schedule/life while lillard was playing against weak division 1 mid majors.

yes, they both have 5 years experience but kemba's 1 nba year outweighs all of lillard's. what lillard is doing is very impressive. what kemba is doing this year is also pretty impressive.

this argument is trivial.

lillard sees the floor and has a better pg feel for the game now than kemba does now. that is why i am still unsure what kemba's best fit will be.

it is also very difficult to figure out how much of this is kemba and how much of this is kemba playing with functional basketball retards (with the exception of mkg and sometimes mulley). nearest i can tell the only league wide starter that kemba is playing with is mkg. everyone else on our team is better suited as a bench guy.

also, i am not impressed with dunlaps coaching particularly in the half court offense and defense thus far. again, it is tough to tell how much of it is having the bad news bears to work with, but our rotations on defense are terrible and have already spoken (typed) at length on my thoughts on our half court offense. he clearly is a great motivator and has the team locked in, so in that regard he is infinitely better than silas was last year.

It simply amazes me how people refuse to see a good thing when they have it. Lilliard is going to be very good, absolutely. But considering Kemba is just getting his first year of starting, I dont see how people are already thinking he is not starter quality. Mind boggling. I think they have very similar potential.

So, go back to the draft. Would you prefer the Bobcats had Lilliard as starting PG and Kemba as his backup? And we never got MKG? Or do you think we are better as a team with Kemba as starting PG and MKG as starting SF. You can argue all day about why you feel Lilliard will be better than Kemba, or why Kemba will be just as good as Lilliard. But the real important question is "What is best for this Bobcat team?" And to me, Kemba and MKG starting for this team is far more preferable that having Lilliard as a starting PG and Kemba as his backup. All that combo would do is be around for 2 more years, and then Kemba walks, just like DJA did. I think Kemba and MKG have the ability to be our starters for the next decade.

Yup, if you guys want to play it that way it's Lilliard vs MKG...and I know who I'm taking for sure.

No one is saying Kemba isnt starting quality. Most people I am sure think he is gonna be a very good pg. I am not ready to anoint him to all star / franchise caliber just yet.

Most people didnt want Lillard because we had already invested a high pick in Kemba.
