Love him so far.
Love him so far.
I've been thoroughly impressed with him this season. He's really controlling himself and running the offensive system, such as it is, well.
I'm trying to think what he would be like if he had someone reliable he could just dump the ball off to in the post, not to mention someone who could really hit the 3, on the court with him. Let's not forget that a large part of the reason he hasn't got more assists is that players are missing quite a few open shots.
Both he & MKG are exceeding my expectations.
PS: I really like what Sessions has brought to the team too; very happy with our (relative) quality at PG.
Rumble, young man, rumble! Kemba is theoretically still a rookie and playing some elite basketball so far. I don't think we should expect for him to keep this up, but accept that he's showing us flashes of brilliance. This level of play isn't expected to be a constant from a young player until at least his 3rd season in the NBA. The future is bright. The area where he really impresses me the most is his defense. I think most of us tend to overlook that because he isn't over 6 feet and 4 inches tall. I haven't seen a PG that tenacious on the defensive end of the ball since maybe Gary Payton and Mookie Blaylock.
he's averaging 18.8 PPG, 5.8 APG, 3.8 RPG, 2.8 SPG !! a great start to the season from Kemba !.
I haven't had a chance to watch much this season, but from what I've seen, read and heard, Kemba is doing the same things he did last year, he's just finishing them instead of getting there and having no clue what to do. Between working on his shot and slowing the game down, it sounds like he's pretty well adjusted, which is impressive considering the lack of guidance he had last year. Having an offense tailored to him obviously helps, too, but I'm thoroughly impressed, though I expected something close to this from him.
His defense last year was pretty good for a rookie, he just wasn't put in a place to get those steals because Ralph Lewis can't coach defense. Kemba had all the moves and timing, but no one taught him angles and he apparently didn't watch film to know tendencies. Now he's using the same moves to much better success because he is a smarter and more prepared played.
Last year was the million dollar move, ten cent finish Kemba. That finish is a lot better, is all I'm saying.
he his always motivated and gives 110% in every game !, thats what we need on this roster !
Kemba unleashed. Seriously quicker all around than last year. Constantly on his toes and moving his legs. Hopping and bouncing around screens on defense; changing speeds and direction on offence. Kemba has elite quickness and is so far using it fully. Welcome to the NBA.
