I don't know how good we really are just yet, but we've beaten two quality playoff teams in the Pacers & Mavericks, and easily could be 4-1 right now. I prefer to stay optimistic because I hate to doubt what I stand by, especially as a fan.

The win against Indy was big because we struggle so much against them historically. And the Dallas troubles are well documented, but lets be honest, we took overtime to beat them with no Dirk or Marion... easily their two best players. A win is a win, but I hardly think we are in jeopardy of ruining our draft status as of yet.
It remains to be seen if we really are a middle of the road team. Who knows what will happen? But I dont see how you cant bd happy we are. Better.of course we want high draft picks so we can get the next lebron or whatever, but in the meantime we have to improve the team as we can. See: mkg and kemba. They might help us be middleground in the future, but the only alternative I see is drafting bullshit instead of possible good players on the off chance we get the next durant. U cant be unhappy our prospects do well, and be excited excited to draft second. Thats crazy and not understanding sports. We have to draft the best we can get and hope also to get that next level player. Who knows, maybd detroit and portland will be bad enough long enough and we will get a GOAT in a few years when we are already a playoff team.
what do you mean easily be 4-1?
we got smacked by phoenix and we were lucky to even be in that game the way they were dismantling us inside. We got housed by a New Orleans team because we only had one guy that could make a shot that night - they also have no offense to speak of and we couldn't stop them at all. Dallas buried us. Each of our losses is exactly what it is. We are a bad team. A very, very bad team.
There's no such thing as winning too much. Sure I want to see a high draft pick this year, I think all of us do. How are you or anyone going to say that you shouldn't play to win?
Because trying hard just puts you in playoff cannon fodder, 1st round purgatory for a decade.
I'm all for guys going hard on the court - but I'm absolutely against pulling a Washington and abandoning a rebuild halfway through just to sign guys like Okafor and Ariza to get the honor of being swept by Miami.
I understand what your are saying, but you present two options to exist as a team. 1: a non playoff fodder top 4 team with a shot at the title. Or a shitty rebuilding team jockeing for draft picks. There HAS to be more to a league for an exciting experience.
There has to be a middle ground that ideally isnt permanent.
2-3 really fun, bandwagon-fan attracting wins per month is just fine. That would give us between 12-18 wins...my guess is we'll end up real close to 20, still bad enough to warrant a top 4 pick, but good enough to perk the interest of the casual fans, we also need 2-3 near wins per month and no more than 1-2 20+ point blowouts.
It blows my mind. You guys are acting like let throw the season to draft more potential. Our guys are developing nicely. We do have some really nice pieces right now in Charlotte. No we don't have a james, durant, or kobe. Is there one in the draft? There is not a guy in the draft next year that is going to come in an change this team much. Give dunlap a chance to teach the guys we have. Look at the difference we have seen in our young guys in just 5 games. I may be more optimistic than others. But seriously. The reason why the bobcats drafts havent panned out they haven't had a real teacher. Name one coach we've had that has honestly put focus on development. Kemba is jumping of the radar right now and growing every game. MKG is growing every game. Mullens is a world of better this year on the boards and on his defense. The problem is that everyone wants a quick fix. Quick to writing off what we have. If this team continues to grow and learn and get better at the pace they are now. You could honestly be looking at the number 8 seed in the east. Ok I already know whats going to be said next. Why do we want to be an 8 seed just to be knocked out the first round. Answer!!! To get some dang excitement in Charlotte about a team. If we make the playoffs this year with as young as we are. All you will hear is how great Cho has been developing these young guys. Putting the right coach in place to teach! Then they will be calling this the next okc. Oh and then what.... people will want to play in charlotte!!!!! have you ever considered this outcome. Or lets just keep swinging at the fences to see if we can land a player that comes once every 10 yrs!!! LOL
I guess I may be over-exaggerating a little, but I felt like we were in both of those games until the end. If it wasn't for Shannon Brown going into NBA Jam "he's on fire" mode I believe we would've beat the Suns and as far as the Hornets I just think that we are a better team. Dunlap doesn't help us with some of the rotations he put out there occasionally that put us in deficits.
