So why was Matt Carroll a team captain?
Matt was captain to make him feel good, he did wear the uniform longer than anyone else there.
as good of a trade i think this is talent wise. I just read that Matt Carrol wanted to retire here.......He can't have that many seasons left. He was a fan favorite despite riding the pine, he was overall a good attitude to have aroundand a "co-captain". Could we traded another scrub? If diops contract wasn't so large...
Hakim warrick is an offensively skilled big, something we don't really have outside of Mullens. Its a small trade, but a really good one for us.
Not sure why NOLA would do that, hope his attitude is okay. We won't exercise his option next year. But on nights where someone is out he will get some burn...
Great work Cho!
flashback to a thread in 2008, similar trade proposed. 4 yrs in the working.

Great move! Warrick will actually play for this team. I remember him from Syracuse and he was a really good transition player. Can beat most PF's up and down the court.
Warrick is pretty similar to Tyrus without the psychosis. In other words, he's not very good.
But Carroll was a 4th string SG who has only played 6 total minutes for us. Warrick adds some athleticism, rebounding, and dunking that is useful for Dunlap's style of play. He probably won't get a ton of minutes, but he'll hopefully eat into (lol) Tyrus' and help make him expendable.
If he doesn't work out then we just decline his TO for next year with no loss in the short or long term.
Not a huge difference maker, but a "great" trade by Cho nonetheless
not sure why NO would do this. warrick has a 4 mil team option next year. essentially this is expiring crap for expiring not such crap (warrick). he is basically tyrus thomas. i wonder if an amnesty is in the works? doesn't make sense to amnesty tyrus unless they just want him gone. in that case just tell him to stay away from the team.
