I think the Louisiana Pelicans sounds better then the New Orleans Pelicans but I like it. It has local significance although I liked the Krewe better.

Consider me as someone who doesn't mind the name.


Not any gayer than "Magic", "Heat", or "Thunder" to name a few

If we changed our name to the hornets how long would it take?

I actually like the "Pelicans" name. Seemed weird until I said it out loud, but it grows on you fairly quickly. It's also a pretty bada$$ bird. We associate big, square jaws with stereotypical tough guys, and I suppose the pelican has the avian equivalent of that with its giant throat pouch connected to its beak. They're like Bruce Campbell with feathers.
