Oh, I know that was LB's thing. I just like to think that nearly any reason imaginable is better than the actual reason it had to be done.
As for Kemba not getting calls, I definitely see it too. Give it some time, though. He has to build the reputation/expectation that he takes it to the rim strong on a consistent basis. Once he has that established, I believe the calls will be there.
Have to bump this after Kemba's recent phenomenal play. Unlike some/most, I've always seen Kemba as a natural at the 1, so that was never a concern for me, it was his wildly inconsistent jumper. I mean, such amazing dribbling and hesitation moves to open himself up for a 12 footer and CLANG over and over as a rook. And now look at him! And he's becoming a legit 3 pt threat.
Plus dude has the quickest hands this side of CP3 on defense. Damn, did we ever get a winner in Kemba!
great Draft Pick and he's proving what a great player he is !
Kemba should be our 2nd All Star in Cats history
Another masterful job last night (vs. PHI) by Kemba at the point humbling on both ends an All Star point guard in Jrue Holiday. Fighting through all the no-calls on his drives to the lane, he delivered some of the sweetest dribble breakdowns and passes I've seen from any point guard this year. That Shammgodish one-handed crossover he pulled on Holiday to get by him and then the fake pass, then lookaway oop to McBob was insane! Maybe the prettiest play I've seen this year.
Then there was the pretty no-look drop-off to the trailing Henderson for the slam.
I'm biased, but I don't see how there's any doubt Kemba is not rising to become a top flight 1 in this league. I just salivate at what he can do with an inside presence.
What an amazing sophomore season from Kemba!
I think he definatley has the potential to be an All Star because he's effective on both ends of the court.
I honestly thought we were playing the 76ers and 3 refs with homes in Bryn Mawr - the dish to Hendo if my memory serves was actually immediately following one of the most egregious no-calls in the game where Kemba got absolutely mugged (from my perspective in the opposite endzone upstairs). He was trailing so bad on the play because he was peeling himself off the floor. He seemed genuinely angered that there was no call but had just enough time to see the ball coming over him and he made that chicken salad sandwich out of what was nearly chicken shit.
As much as McBob kept us in it in the 2nd half and made that win possible, so did Kemba (and Gerald to a smaller extent) for not completely losing their shit on the refereeing. Sure hope Violet Palmer is at the Heat game again as she seemed to be the only ref interested in calling an actual game between the two of us.
Agreed on his awesomeness this year.
There should be no doubt. I think he's easily a top 10 PG right now, and rising every game it seems. His performance this year, coupled with Biz visibly improving and Hendo finishing strong has me satisfied with this lost season.
Side note: How about Hendo's sick ass drive to the hoop where he missed the dunk because held on too long. Not sure I've seen moves like that from him ever. It was like he borrowed Kemba's feet for a play.
