I will stand by analysis of him from a pure, tangible, basketball standpoint. ISO PG DOES NOT WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS, SCORE FIRS PGs DO NOT WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS; THEY MAY PRODUCES PLAYOFF APPEARENCES, BUT THE CEILING IS SET BELOW A CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY. OKC lost *BC Westbrook is ISO...did you see how many shots he took away from Harden and Durant; his style of game-play *was the difference in them losing to the Heat. The Bulls will not win a championship bc Rose is ISO, don't get fooled by his MVP award and deep playoff run; even LeBron James who often runs the point is a distribut first player, he will dish it out more often than he will take the shot.
ISO PGs are like run first QBs in the NFL, they will get you wins...but they never have, and never will win championships. If Westbrook wins a championship, it will be *in spite of his playing style, not because of his playing style. No argument will convince me you can get a ring with a score first PG. I will gladly read any examples of a PG winning a championship that you can throw out there.
When you say worst thread, you mean the initial post?
while kemba may not be a "true" pg. in a jamal crawford esque style he can drop 20 points any given night. A player like that is essential for any playoff team. He is the best shot creator we have in my opinion. Lately he can score from anywhere in anyway. Something we can't really get elsewhere. If need be, mkg with an improved jump shot can be a point foward kind of lebron. (Look at the heat they don't have a true pg and they do just fine). I believe with a improved jumpshot mkg has the potential to be something special, even though he tends to dissapear some games like last night.
The HEAT are a terrible example...LeBron runs the point half of the time, he drops dimes on a regular basis even if he doesn't run the point; when isn't running the point, Chalmers picks his poison, throw it to LeBron, Wade, or Bosh..maybe wait for LeBron to kick it out to him. The Heat, bc of LeBron are the exception to the rule, the Thunder, BC of KD are the exception to the rule. I do not like the argument "Chalmers does it and the Heat are fine"..LeBron is a phenom..and a distributor no less who gets the ball half the time which currently allows him to be one.
I am not saying we are like the heat. Im just saying I see some Leading PG, capabilities in MKG and maybe with those it won't be as necessary for us to have a "true" In in which case kemba is a perfect fit.
I'm saying you need an absolute stud, a KD, Melo, or LeBron to get away with it...that is the only time is is a perfect fit. MKG would have to be a great scoring foward to make a lesser distributor ok to run the point. MKG in his prime will be like a Gerald Wallace/Pippen type of player, not a Joe Johnson or JR Smith in which it which you may have a chance for a run with score first PG.
You need an absolute stud to win a title anyway so if an absolute stud fits with Kemba then perfect.
I'm sure someone with poor reading comprehension is going to accuse me of doing a 180, but Kemba's just fine. Sessions, and just about everyone else aside from MKG, is trade bait. The team needs two high-level scorers to act as the teams' stars (Mullens, Henderson, and Taylor aren't even close to that level) and then needs to fill out the roster and structure the rotation according to that rosters' needs. In the meantime, keep Kemba out there and figure out how much you're willing to pay him after his rookie deal's up.
