I watched most of it. It was mostly the Elias Harris show for the Zags. Their spacing was too poor for Olynyk to operate much so it ended being Harris making something out of nothing. KO had a bad game but he didn't look that bad. I'm impressed with the blocks that he gets, he isn't that fast or athletic but he has good timing. Corbkick8's Pau comparison isn't that bad, really. He strikes me as more of a taller Scola with a rawer post game. If he had a big repertoire of post moves he'd be a top 10 player in the draft at least.
I just read this about Zeller "Zeller's biggest NBA fans remain the stat heads; his high-efficiency game measures out nicely on a number of different metrics." Pretty sure Rich Cho fits exactly into that category. Not saying anything else just interesting that's all
That is a great point, Plow. The one stat that might scare Cho away will be his length measurements. Cho seems to like length(Biz, MKG), and the Zellers just don't have it....
But still, you could be on to something. I love offensive efficiency myself. It's why I'm trying to follow Olynyk.
My question about Zeller: Does he get a lot of points from OTHERS creating for him? (Pick and rolls, hanging around the basket and waiting for guards to penetrate and dish, etc....)
Thing is you can say someone gets points from others around them... But then again you can say someone doesn't get enough points as the guards can't get them the ball.
Zeller doesn't share the paint with another big very often and he is almost always surrounded by good shooters. Hulls, Sheehey, Oladipo, Watford, and Yogi Ferrell all draw defenders. Zeller also gets a lot of easy buckets b/c he runs the P&R really well. He's active around the basket and looks for 2nd chance opportunities, getting a fair share of put backs and tip ins. He really is a solid jumpshot away from being a taller Nick Collison. Not really a franchise player but definitely a positive to add to the team. He and Biz would probably work well together, especially if Zeller developed a nice J.
He def isn't lobbying for a 3 second rule in college
Not really. Collison was a similarly bad man in his hey day. He just became a garbage man as his athleticism left him.

Kelly Olynyk had 13 points on THREE, yes, THREE shot attempts tonight. Plus 4 assists from the Center position, in only 19 minutes. Yeah, the competition was only Pepperdine. But c'mon!
If he is so insanely efficient in college, it is hard to believe he can't be an NBA starter someday.
I'll keep checking.
