Drummond, like everyone on here has been saying. Younger, Bigger, Faster and stronger than most of the bigs in the league.
Used to want him but went off him after he sorta lied about his vert in the combine.

Thing is cousins looked great in his first year. There were questions about Drummonds engine and his ability to work hard and learn. He strikes me as the kind of guy who's career could nosedive if he gets down or doesn't lit he coach, he doesn't seem to have a very strong character. Saying that, I would take him at number 2 as well
I would have drafted Dre even if MKG was an option. I love MKG but wings are a dime a dozen, simple as that. Bigs like Dre are RARE and 2013's draft class is weak in terms of franchise rebuilding bigs. Kemba and Dre would have been a P&R nightmare for teams. We'd still be awful and add a Shabazz or McLemore at best or a Poythress/Bennett at worse. 2014: Kemba, Hendo, Poythress, Biz, and Drummond could be scary.
Thomas Robinson.
You can't play Biyombo and Drummond together, neither does anything on offense more than five feet away from the hoop. Makes it way too easy for the defense to double-team or take away any driving lanes from the perimeter guys and force you into living and dying with long jumpshots.
Drummond and Biz would have paired well. Dre has a face up game and passing flair. Maybe not this year, but next year Dre probably would have been developed well enough to draw an occasional double team and feed Biz some bunnies. Besides, we're not supposed to be good this year anyway and it's not like MKG has much offense outside of 5 feet either. I feel much more confident that Dre will develop a post game than I do about MKG developing a decent outside shot.
Drummond all day......... I was praying that we picked him but.... we didn't. You can't teach that size and athleticism, aslo Drummond has a nice touch around the rim... gonna be a beast.
I'd go with Drummond too because, as BrotherDave says, Bigs are hard to find and he does look like he could be a really good one. There are very few people on this planet that have both his size (height, length & weight) and his athleticism ... when you add that he seems to have natural vision, can pass the ball and has a decent shot (for a Centre) on him you have the makings of an elite Big.
I think a lot of the talk about his demeanour and body language prior to the draft was simply people not appreciating that he's a shy kid rather than a sulky one. Very impressed with him as a prospect, from what I have seen.
i didnt see anything from that Detroit game to make me think he is anything better than DeAndre Jordan. good athlete, he'll get you some dunks off putbacks, alleyoops, and nice dimes but thats about it. he showed some low bbiq getting baited out there for shot blocks while Bismack cleaned up the boards on offense. basically cost his team the game.
i think the large athletic=huge ceiling thing is kinda played out. to me, that just means a decent floor rather than some uber high ceiling. its all about skills to me.
Damian Lillard. I understand that Kemba is here but, you have to take the best player available.. and he is easily the best player in the draft. I said that before draft night and it proved true. Him and Kemba would make a great tandem and if you dont wish to keep him, his trade stock is so high that you would get great offers for him. Imagine if Portland says right now that they wanna trade him? Can you imagine the offers they would get?
