Kyrie is the next Deron though
Here is an interesting spin on things, check this out:
2nd Year Derrick Rose: 20.8 ppg---6.0 Assists ---3.8 rebounds ---0.7 steals ---.489 fg%---.257 3p%---2.78 TO---36.8 mpg
2nd Year Kemba Walker: 17.9 ppg--6.0 Assists ---3.2 rebounds --- 1.8 steals ---.427 fg%--.319 3p%---2.3 TO ---35.5 mpg
Now, I never thought that Kemba would be anywhere near Derrick Rose's numbers but look!
Kemba actually is ahead in steals, 3p% and less turn overs.
They are pretty much level in rebounding, assists and playing time ( even though D rose leads playing time by a minute and rebounding by .06)
Rose leads him in fg% and scoring.
Now that really impresses me, I am not Kemba homer on here but that has certainly made me think that he has the potential to go somewhere in this league
He's closer to the Marbury/Francis mold. Not quite the size or athlete but not the same cancer either.
He could end up showing flashes of Paul/Zeke, but he doesn't seem to have the same vision or distribution instincts as those two.
Kyrie isn't a Deron player either.
Kemba is simply the gawd.
I mean......really?
A) Rose shot a significantly higher percentage overall while posting a higher ppg...
B) On a playoff team...
C) While being two years younger than Kemba is this season.
Kemba's a very good player, but he isn't Derrick Rose, and he sure isn't Chris Paul(their styles of play are very different). A high-character, professional version of Marbury/Francis is about right, even though the body types are different. I promise Kemba isn't going to be winning the MVP in his third season.
At no point did I say he was going to be like Derrick rose. Also I pointed out that he shot a a higher fg% and scored more points. So I am fully aware of those points, I actually did point them out. You say that was on a play off team so there is an argument that he had more talent so had better players to pass to and he had more space as they had better shooters on the floor.
Either way, I am simply pointing out that their stats are more similar than I and perhaps others realised
Posting numbers and assist depends on the players around him. Comparing him is hard in size and speed he compares better to Paul than a Rose or a Williams. Francis had more size was slower but like Kemba shot the ball and scored . I think Kemba will end up a better passer. I still have to go back to AI , with a little less scoring and a little better passing.
I'm pointing out that it doesn't mean anything. In 05-06 Mike James averaged 20.3-5.8-3.3 on 46.2%/44.2% shooting with 0.9 steals and 2.6 turnovers per in 37 minutes a night. Most competent offensive players are capable of putting up numbers that are impressive in a vacuum if you give them enough possessions. Kemba becoming a better distributor/floor general, working on his defensive rotations, and getting a better idea of when to run the offense and when to go all Iverson is far more meaningful than his stats being within shouting distance of a younger Derrick Rose.
Well looks like were going to be disagreeing on this one
Fair enough.
