You Know What Blows My Mind?

How in the hell does Dominic McGuire continue to get jobs in the NBA? Starts the season with Toronto and starts 9 games. Cut by them, signs with the Hornets, and plays around 16 minutes a game for them before getting cut. Now Indiana signs him, and they plug him in as a starter right away?

I understand the Pacers are without Granger and George, but really? Dominic "I Don't Even Know Who I Am" McGuire is your best available option? Meanwhile, Derrick Brown, a player who plays the same position, and does literally everything better than McGuire, is stuck in Russia.

I don't know what kind of money Brown is getting over there, but you would have to think he would prefer to be a role player in the NBA instead of a star in Russia.

McGuire must have some pictures of Adam Silver giving David Stern a blumpkin. That's the only explanation of why he continues to get work in the NBA.

after reading the thread title I thought you were going to bring up how we have by far the worst defense in the league despite having so many players who are supposed to be good defenders.

Indy was getting really thin on the wings. Sam Young sprained his ankle really bad before his contract became guaranteed so they cut him. They needed to sign a guy for a couple of 10 game contracts until Granger returns. Certainly nothing permanent.

Dominic gets all those chances because he's available. If Derrick chose to stay here, he would get his share too. Dominic isn't the worst player out there; he's like the anti-Tyrus, that's saying a lot.

You can't tell me my boy Ammo can't be more productive than Dom. And he sure as helllllllll is better than Luke Walton. And several other players.....

Well, none of the bigs are particularly good defenders; Kemba, Henderson, and Taylor are okay defenders; and MKG is decent with the makings of being very good; and Gordon and Sessions are liabilities. Without a good defensive anchor and with perimeter defenders that aren't great, the defense will continue to be marginal at best.

All of our players ,except Gordon, Warrick and Sessions, are better defensively than they are on the offensive end. I think that says enough about both or defense as well as our offense.

Kemba's a better offensive player than he is a defender, while Henderson and Taylor are both okay two-way guys that don't stand out on either end. In reality, the bigs are just atrocious, and it's extremely difficult to play even passable defense without good bigs.
