Should we offer Nikola Pekovic a big contract this offseason?
This guy is going to get some big contract offers this off season, supposedly the Trail Blazers are very interested already. He will probably command anywhere from $44-50 million over 4 years. He is averaging 16 PPG and nearly 9 RPG without Kevin Love beside him. Obviously, this guy could be a focus of a low post offensive game plan. The only flaw I see in his game is his lack of shot-blocking ability. However, we could have Biz slide into that role of shot-blocker extraordinare, a la Serge Ibaka.
The front office needs to show the fan base that they are willing to make some kind of move that puts us in the position to win. I believe that Pekovic is exactly the type of player that we need as we are in dire straits for a low post presence.
Give me Shabazz and Plumlee in the draft while adding Pekovic in free agency and I would call it an overwhelming success. I wouldn't mind seeing us add a scoring, veteran SF that could come off the bench as well (someone in the mold of a Stephen Jackson skillset).
What do you all think?

Agreeable. I don't think we should offer a max contract but do go after him. He is definitely not an All Star max contract type player.
