I once went to a new bar with Pekovic. When we got there, there was nothing there but an empty lot. We stayed there for 3 days and the bar was built around us! Pekovich ordered a bottle of whiskey and then burned the bar to the ground. He said "Always leave a place how you found it!"
I'm curious as to who will be available in 2014. That is likely when they'll throw money around.
I LOVE Pek's back to the basket bruiser/rebounder style of basketball and would love to sign him for as high as 12-13M a year?
Although I doubt that gets him...maybe we could trade for him and match his offers? I have a hard time seeing him as a max guy (he isn't). Like I have said alot on here I support the rebuild but man...It sure would be nice to have one big time player to run with Kemba, and win some games in the near future to build a better fanbase.
That being said i just watched the Texas-WVU game and saw this kid Deniz Kilicli a senior F/C Turkish guy for WVU, who is 6'9-260 and he reminds me alot of Pek I couldent find much about his draft stock on draft express but i found this http://www.basketballelite.com/index...t-virgina/3627 Have any of you guys seen this guy play? and have an opinion of his game? Im no scout by any means but if i had a mid or late 2nd id pick this guy up... or would love to pick him up as a UDFA
Kilicli? Oh man, no you can't compare him to Pek at all. I love this guy but he is very low skilled. He's like a smaller Jon Brockman. He'll bring his beard and his lunchpail to the game but that is about it.
He seemed pretty well skilled in the low post with a nice hook shot? Then again it was just one game. ehhh
I don't understand how any human being can think that hickson is anywhere close to the basketball player that pekovic is. Hickson is a decent player who has often been unmotivated in his early career, which suddenly changed after he didn't get a big payday last year. Pekovic brings it all day every day. Hickson is a player that might help push you into the playoffs if you're close. Pekovic, with talent around him, could potentially be a starting center on a championship team. I just don't see them as comparable players.
