My dream draft

At this point i'd prefer Shabazz Muhammad over Ben Mclemore...i love Bazz's drive and aggresivness...plus he's got a big length advantage on Mclemore...Bazz is also a good shooter and flat out pure scorer, can score it in a variety of different ways.

Shabazz has that I'd do anything to win attitude that we are trying to build that kemba, MKG, Biz all have......I might even prefer Bennett over Mclemore honestly...but for sure Bazz is my #1 guy

and there's no way i'd trade detroits 2014 pick for a better pick in 2013.....2014 is gonna be a better draft year according to everyone..no way i'd do that looking like we might have 3 picks next year instead of 2 this year

To me Ben Mclemore has better upside as Shabazz doesn't contribute much at all on defense and isn't as good of a shooter as Mclemore. Mclemore is more athletic and is averaging a steal and a block per game and is a much better passer than Bazz. But where Mclemore has athleticism Bazz has length, up in the 7ft wingspan range. Also they have two different play styles. Ben works extremely well of the ball and fits better into the Bobcats offense because he doesn't need the ball. Bazz is better in iso situations and can spot up along with being able to drive better and post up as well. All around more versatile on offense at this point in their careers. Keep in mind too that Shabazz is in a more open offensive system at UCLA and Mclemore is in Bill Self's more organized system in Kansas. We'd have to see Mclemore given more freedom before you come to a conclusion about his ability to create offense.

However at this moment from what I have been able to see he doesn't show great talent at being able to create for himself but with his athleticism and shooting stroke i don't see that being much of an issue moving forward especially if he works on his ball handling. Shabazz does have that killer instinct that you like to see from big time players but he's not good with his off hand and his jumper still needs work but he's not far off. Both are good picks but I think Mclemore is more well rounded overall as a player but Shabazz is clearly better on offense mainly because of his better handling and driving ability.

Bennett is a SF and we have MKG and Taylor already. Getting him would be redundant and a wasted pick with Hendo possibly walking and Gordon on the trading block leaving a gaping hole at the 2.

Dude Bazz shoots almost identical to McLemore. His jumper does not need any "work". Averaging over 40% from the arc which is pretty darn good / great for someone not even known for their shot.

Bennett is large enough to play the PF spot in the NBA and will be much more of a nightmare match up there than at the SF position.

At this point McLemore is an athletic spot up shooter. Hard to justify a 1st or 2nd overall selection on that alone.

Since when is Shabazz not known for his shot ? He's known as a dynamite scorer from all areas on the court. And i was referring to his form on his shot. Mclemore is shooting upwards of 50% and Bazz is at 44%. Not a huge difference but efficiency is key in the association. Bennet is 6'7 dude. He's extremely undersized for a 4.

An athletic spot up shooter who can play the passing lanes and erase shots in transition versus an offensive powerhouse with no defensive playmaking ability or passing instincts. I'll take the spot up shooter.

Doesnt matter what your form is if you are draining the shots at a high rate. 40+% from 3 is very good.

McLemores fg% is misleading as outside of 3's his shots are mostly dunks and transition points.

Bazz shots well but from much more difficult and varied shots.

Bennett has the girth needed to play 4. Height is overrated imo.

I aint taking a spot up shooter with the 1st overall pick. Fug no.

Unless you're Kevin Martin it does. And well how is that misleading? Shabazz is mainly a slasher so both of their points come at the rim. And Bennett is a 6'7 230 pound power player. He won't bully anyone in the NBA like he does in college. He'll have to rely on finesse against bigger players and that part of his game is lacking. And he's more than a spot up shooter. There's more to the game than offense. And there is more to offense than merely scoring. I don't care how many points you put up if you're not doing anything on defense. And he's not averaging but 2 points more than Mclemore so offensive productivity isn't a big difference between them so you look at the rest of the stat line where Mclemore has more rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. He's overall the better player. He may not be as complete of an offensive player just yet but he is better everywhere else which outweighs the offense.

After this season (and this Clippers game), I'm to the point where I only want big, athletic guys (that can catch preferably). Noel and Bennett.

All you have to do is stay in McLemore's grill and give him no space for a 3 and you leave him ineffective.

Bazz is much more than a "slasher" Has a great mid range game, can post up, take his man off the bounce, and knock down 3's

Bazz has that james harden body type...strong for a SG i feel like he has more star potential than mclemore

Yeah Shabazz is extremely strong for a SG. That offers versatility since he is big enough to move over to the 3 to take advantage of certain match ups. Helps him in the post too. He's practically un-guardable and his offense kind of reminds me of Melo since he can shoot from deep, isolate in mid range, drive against bigger slower defenders, and post up smaller ones. His offensive potential is tremendous i've just always had questions about his defensive playmaking capabilities. And he is awful going to his right. And he is MAINLY a slasher. He can do it all on offense but he will always look to attack first. That's not a criticism. -_-
