Looks like most think Herrmann should start
Including Bonnell of the ovserver. And a lot of people who respond to his artical. I personly think he should start too. I think Oak should start at the five. Fabio at the four Wallace at the three Rich at the two Felts at point.I DON'T care if Hollins is doing ok. Fabio is a better scoring option.Oak plays the other teams best players any way.I think we a much better team starting Fabio. That all so frees up mins to give to Carroll , Morrison, Dudley , Davidson.Premoz. That puts Hollins 10th
on my depth chart as of now . Hes needs to devlope some more.

Who would you start Fabio or Hollins
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
I say Hollins, and I'm not saying this because I think he's the better player. I'm saying because we all know Coach V wants Okafor to stay out of foul trouble and more importantly keep him HEALTHY. With Hollins on the floor Oak won't always have to guard the opposing teams biggest and strongest player. If Hollins starts the season off doing bad and not performing well then yeah, maybe we should put Hermann in there and see how good we fare with him, but for now I'm sticking with Hollins.
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to go with Hollins too. Just to get things going at the beginning, I think he should be on the floor. Then, just because he starts doesn't mean he has to have the majority of the minutes. Like Wallace15 said, though, it'll help keep Oak on the floor. Then we can rotate Herrmann in for plenty of minutes as the game goes on.
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
i am ok with starting Hermann at the 4... to see how we do. Hermann hasnt looked great so far. So id like to see more out of him than that before i crown him the starting PF.
Dav... you talk about wanting a big... then when a 7 footer gets PT you wanna bench him for a 6'8 guy.
IMO it should be Hollins gettin the nod. unless Fabs turns up the heat. no sense in going small if your gonna get the same production from Hollins and take some heat off Oak as a byproduct.
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
Mustachio i was thinking of you when i started this thread. I was trying to think of a way Morrison would be most effective. I could see him geting quility time as a sixth or seventh man coming off the beanch. As him and Carroll be the main players coming off the beanch. If either or both is hot extend thair mins. Hollins is shooting around 15 percent in the preseason, hes had three games hes just not ready yet. Let him back up Oakafor. If you guys have noticed Oaks boards are down him playing the four? Yes i want a QUILITY big but i don't think Hollins is ready so far. With what we got now this is how i would play the players according to mins played.
1. Felton
2. Rich
3. Wallace
4. Fabio
5. Oakafor
sixth man according to how well hes playing Carroll- Morrison
Thease mins could be taken by both or either depending whos hot. So we might have a line up like Felton, Carroll ,Morrison, Wallace , Oakafor
Now Oakafor i would play him as little as possable in the 1st Half.Giving those mins to Hollins and Davidson who ever is playing better. With Dudley playing some back up four.
We deep i could see us playing
D Anderson, Carroll, Morrison, Dudley, Davidson , extended mins a lot this year. I might even think i would make them my blue team this year. FIVE IN FIVE OUT?
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
I am suprized at the votes Hollins has got so far as bad as he has shot the ball . And the lack of rebounds he get for time played.Rich our 2 guard, rebounds better mins played. Not to even thinkabout Wallace. Fabio even out boards him.
Why all the love for Hollins the numbers don't show this.
Re: Looks like most think Harrmonn should start
Dav, I think it's based more on defense and the general potential of Hollins. Clearly, if we start Fabio, then as a team we're focusing on offense (even though his D isn't absolutely terrible). With Hollins, we don't even care about his offensive production so long as he helps out Okafor down low. Like I said, he doesn't even need to play the majority of the minutes. However, I think having him start the game could maximize our main big man.
It all might be moot though, what with Primoz coming back. There was a quote from Emeka the other day that Mek has a lot of faith in his ability to rejoin the team soon and contribute.
Re: Looks like most think Herrmann should start
i just dont want Fabio playing PF to be honest. I think he has his moments at that position. Id just rather see him filling in for both the SF and PF in spots as i think thats his best potential. hes almost 30 and has only had a quarter of a pretty good season. If you start Fabs in the PF spot and teams start game planning toward him, i dont see him excelling.
Id rather see Fabs start at the SF spot and move Crash to the PF spot than the other way around. I think its more effective.
who would you rather face Jermaine O'Neal or Dirk or Tim Duncan. Fabio or Gerald Wallace. EXACTLY.
I think with Hollins in there it gets us better for the long term.
Re: Looks like most think Herrmann should start
Mustastio you do realize if what you say does happen it will cut into Morrisons mins that much more. It don't really matter to me what ever coach V thinks . I will agree he knows best.I'm sure he knows what his players can and can't do.
Re: Looks like most think Herrmann should start
I think that the Crash/Hollins/Davidson/Fabio getting the SF/PF/C minutes should be determined around the teams playing. Because honestly, I don't want Fabio getting beaten around by a Duncan or a J O'Neal, as mustachio pointed out. Fabio would, however, be great when we're playing against Jamison and the Wizards.
