Re: Edrow's Portland Recap
May had on a what looked like a black velvet smoking jacket on Saturday. He must be continuing to channel his inner Hef, what with the partying and the gustatory indulgence. Now he needs to show up to games with some ladies under his arms instead of the crutches.
Re: Edrow's Portland Recap
Thanks Dav! That will help out a lot!

Announced attendance was 10,650 give or take 30, but from the broadcast it looked like about 8K or so. I like it though, because as you said, those fans that show up are enthusiastic, as they have been at the games I've gone to so far (excepting Phoenix game, but there was nothing to cheer about there on the basketball court). What I like is we have a core following of 8-10K fans that really love the Cats, and I think this core will increase slightly, but not significantly, as we win more games. Having seen some of the moribund crowds at Memphis, Philly, and New Jersey, our fans kick their asses, and as long as we make noise when appropriate, the players will feed off of us, even without a near-capacity crowd.
Re: Edrow's Portland Recap
I've seen attendance at different arenas and ours doesn't appear any different than some, as Beags mentioned. However, I still expect higher numbers from the Queen City.
That being said, I gotta say that from my perspective the reason why our attendance is subpar at the beginning of games and then swells toward the end is because the ticket-holders in the lower bowl fail to show up for the game. My guess is that people grow weary of their seats by the third quarter and relocate.
I had a student the other day say to me, "the Bobcats have fans?"
My response was simply, "Well, they have at least one." (I teach math. There's a tie-in there.) In retrospect, I should have said, "We may not have as many as some other teams, but at least ours are faithful."

not to drag this way off topic, but what grade math do you teach Muttley?
