warriors loaded at center
are the warriors loading up at center for us. they just sign mbe (played with dallas last year.) they now have 4 1/2 centers on their roster (harrington being the half). maybe they would take othella to help develope wright at pf seeing both of them are lefties and othella can play the 4 for patrick obryant. this gives them money to resign b davis in the offseason. maybe they release him after the trade or make us pay some of his contract. the contracts match up and gsw have alittle room under the cap. :afro:
Re: warriors loaded at center
I don't see this O'Bryant guy as any more of an upgrade over Hollins or Davidson, in my opinion, and while he would be an upgrade over Harrington, this guy's still a project, so I'd just as soon keep our guys, and say goodbye to Harrington after the season.
Re: warriors loaded at center
will any team be willing to get othella from our team?

Only if they want an expiring contract and free up some cap room. Nobody in this world wants the actual Othella Harrington, only what he means to a team's salary cap.

Re: warriors loaded at center
I wonder what they were thinking when they traded for Harrington to come to Charlotte....
Re: warriors loaded at center
Hell, if offered POB for OH and Fabio, I'd jump on that deal.

You must be joking. How can you give up on Herrmann for an unproven young center, whose 3rd year team option hasn't been used by his team and will be an unrestricted free agent this summer? There are not so much examples of not using the 3rd year team option on 1st round players in NBA history, they should be very underachieved, they should be busts. The last example of such a situation is Yaroslav Korolev. :(
Patrick O'Bryant may have a potential (that's why he was selected with 10th pick in 2006 draft out of Bradley), but do we need any potential players from now on? Since we need an instantly contributing big man badly, do we need to be raped after seeing Crash down and Herrmann contributing?
Also I don't think Warriors are loaded at center. Besides Andris Biedrins, they have no quality centers. That's why they've waived 6-9 Lasme and signed Mbenga. DJ Mbenga, O'Bryant or even Brandan Wright(I think he has a tremendous potential, but currently a bust, eventually will be great)... These cannot answer our demands. If I were the GM, I'd go for an experienced option, such as Kelvin Cato (after waiving Othella).
Othella's contract can be in a trade with some over-cap teams, I agree, but until that day we might lose a lot of matches, we might be ripped for numerous times by ones like Dwight Howard.
Re: warriors loaded at center
POB - Kind of a stiff, but has great range for a seven footer. Drains mid-range jumpers. Has an unstoppable skyhook. Looks a little lost at times. He's just never going to be a fit in Nellie's system. Too slow. Gets tired quickly. Unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. If you really want him, I'd go after him in free agency. Right now, he'd just be a rental project. That something you really want to give up a potentially valuable expiring contract for?
Re: warriors loaded at center
If the trade is for Fabio we'd just be swapping expirings, only we'd be getting the 7 ft 21 (?) yr old for a 29 yr old.
