We know that we need to get a legitimate big out of either the draft or free agency. Create your list of the top 10 bigs in the draft. After a dozen posts or so, I'll tally the results and make a list on this post. If you want to change your list up to draft night, I'll try to retally every so often.
4. Darrell Arthur
8. Jason Thompson
9. Kosta Koufos
10. Nathan Jawai
I might have put Hibbert at 10, but I like the idea of having a big banger to put on the court with Jawai. He looks like he could hurt somebody.

I left off Authur , he might get drafted but i don't think he cracks the top 10 bigs this year.

Wow. Ziggy and Slam, you guys have a lot of love for Hibbert. To me, it just seems that much of that "potential" from the yr before evaporated. But the two of you always have such steady and solid opinions, maybe I'm being too harsh on the fellow. I just thought he regressed this yr. In last yrs draft, I wanted him at #8 and was upset when he returned to school. Now, I dont think I'd consider him at #9. If we had two 1st rounders like the Nets at #10 and #21, I can see grabbing him at #21.
Speaking of which, the Nets are fielding calls for #10 and #21. I love to give them #9 and a player for those two picks.

Ohara - you are correct. I have been high on Doc for a long time as has Ziggy. I can't speak for Ziggy, but maybe my loyalty has me place him at #3 on my list. In saying that, I just see Hibbert as being a very solid, very smart, very big centre - and considering you just have to be very big to make it in the NBA as a centre, he's already well above the curve.
Because of his passing ability and his quick thinking, I have him above Lopez - but it was a bit of a toss up between those two.

I understand that point of view. Like I said, I wanted him at #8 last yr before he pulled out. If he gets whatever ailed him last yr corrected, I agree he has good potential. That said, I dont think I want him for Charlotte as he must play Center, and I think most of us have determined Okafor is a Center and not a PF. If we were to land Hibbert or DeAndre Jordan or even Brook Lopez, I'd almost have to bet we were either going to do a S&T with Okafor or just let him walk after next yr. I just cannot see Okafor playing the PF and us having success.

Agreed. On offense it would be perfect because Doc can play the high post, has some range on his J and we could facilitate the offense through him at times, but on D a teaming of EO50 and Doc would get smoked by more mobile, shooting PF/C combo's.
If Doc lands on the right team, he will have a long and very productive NBA career though.
