With Vinny Del Negro now on the hot seat in Chicago, Bickerstaff (Del Negro's top assistant) may be the logical next in line to replace him should the Bulls make a coaching switch.
Bickerstaff originally shared the top assistant post with Del Harris when Del Negro was first hired but hes held the position solo since Harris stepped down in the offseason (now hes backing up Kiki Vandeweghe in New Jersey)
I always thought Del Negro was an odd pick for head coach to begin with. He was Phoenix's assistant GM before getting hired and had no bench experience (served briefly as the Suns' director of player personnel)
I know the Bulls are struggling right now, losing their last 9 of 10, but is Bickerstaff going to change much? Don't get me wrong, I loved Bernie back in our early days -- but unless the front office believes the players are just going to work harder for him over Vinny is he going to be that much of an improvement?
Gotta love the Eastern Conference though... the Bulls are playing .350 ball and yet are currently only 1.5 games out of the 8th seed.

I must admit, I sure do miss Bernie's "I'll get tossed out of the game so you don't have to!" style
