    Default Cats/Knicks/Rockets proposal...PLEASE

All the discussion of TMac an DJ to the Knicks and Curry to the Cats...well heres how it should go down

Bobcats trade- Diaw, Chandler, DJ Augustine
    Bobcats get- DLee, Landry, Curry

Knicks trade- DLee, Curry, Chandler, Jefferies
    Knicks get- TMac, DJ Augustine

    Rockets trade- TMac, Landry
Rockets get- Diaw, Tyson Chandler, Wilson Chandler, Jefferies

Bobcats do this because: We NEED traditional PF's and were able to get rid of tyson, while trimming some salary...Larry Brown would love to get his hands on DLee and Landry and has always loved Curry...i know DLee could be a rental, but we would have a lot of cap room after this year with curry expiring as well, plus us trading diaw an tyson's contract...that looks like a very solid playoff team to me!

    Starting line-up:
    C-Nazy/Curry
    PF-Lee/Landry
    SF-Wallace/UPS
    SG-SJax/Hendo/Law
    PG-Felton/Flip

Knicks do this because: With this trade going down, they shed some more salary and guarantees them enuff cap to sign Lebron and Bosh next year...they wouldn't be very good the rest of the year, but it is definitly worth the trade...were talking lebron and bosh here for years to come...new york fans will be in heaven

Starting line-up for rest of the year:
    C-Darko
    PF-Harrington/Hill
    SF-Gallo
    SG-TMac/Hughes
    PG-Duhon/DJ/Nate

Rockets do this because: They get rid of TMac and bolster up for the playoffs...hayes is doing a great job at center, but they need to add size if they plan to make it to the finals...also add quality depth at PF,SF, an SG

    Starting line-up:
    C-Hayes/Tyson/Anderson
    PF-Scola/Diaw
    SF-Ariza/Jefferies
    SG-Battier/Chandler
    PG-Brooks/Lowry

    What do yall think??

1- Curry isn't an expiring. He has an option for next year, just like TC.

2- Rockets already said they won't take Jeffries.

3- Why would the Rockets trade Landry, their best big man (he's better than Scola) for a couple suckwads in Diaw and TC, and trash in Jeffries. Only WC is decent.

    No way that goes down.

1- If swapping curry for tyson meant getting DLee and Landry, who cares

2- Have they said they dont want Jefferies because he's the only decent asset they are offering? or did they strait up say we dont want jefferies period? i dont know, im just asking

3- They have hayes at center, the guy is 6-6! they need to get taller if they plan on surviving the western playoffs...they could even move hayes to PF for some of the game...tyson is a big body that would fill a NEED for them...an besides wallace last year, diaw was our best player...i think he just isnt trying that hard cuz he's mad we traded raja away or he doesnt want to play on our team

I actually think its a pretty solid idea and a good trade for all parties if the salaries match up. We'd be contending for the 4th spot in the East with the Hawks with that lineup. Lee could play some minutes at Center to keep Nazr from getting too many minutes with Hayes

The Knicks get salary cap relief, though I'm concerned with them only having 10 players post trade. They might not want to part with Lee either considering he's their 2nd tier fallback in case they can only get one big name guy, but I think the salary cap appeal would be very nice.

The Rockets would do this in a heartbeat as far as I'm concerned providing you switch out Landry for Hayes (and it wouldn't hurt my feelings).

    Felts/Flip/Acie
    Jack/Bo/Flip
    Crash/UPS/Graham
    Lee/Hayes/Lexy
    Nazr/Curry/Diop

    Very good idea.

Rockets don't want Jeffries for the salary next year...they want the expiring in TMac.

I think it is a trade Houston could/would turn down...it really does not give them a pick...which I think they will want for moving TMac...I don't see a player (for Houston) that I think they "crave"...but it would help us short term...not sure about long term though...still thinking on that side...

The other thing (from our side) that I question is "LB has always loved Curry"...I don't buy that at all...

Houston wants to win. They get better now/for the future with this trade. They get a solution for the aging Battier, a real C, and tons of depth for bigs.

Houston definitely turns this one down. Just like me from our perspective.
Curry can't play basketball anymore and Lee is overrated as hell. Landry would be awesome, but you can be sure, he's almost untouchable.

This one just came up in the Hollinger chat:

    Lior (Houston)

There is a lot of chatter about TMAC trades on basketball sites. Why would the Rockets trade him and take bad long term contract in return? I would buy him out or let his contract expire and have the cap space next year. Also have some money to extend scola 2010, Landry & Brooks in 2011.
    John Hollinger (3:35 PM)

Rockets are NOT going to take back money in a McGrady deal; to get his expiring contract would require surrendering a real basketball player. At this point nobody is prepared to do that, but as the year wears on and certain disappointing teams look to cut salary (coughWashingtoncough) that situation may change.

me thinks hollinger is absolutely correct. the rockets have one of (if not the) best front offices in the league. i see them holding him for young talent and draft picks.
