Yao's contract expires in 2011 (he will definitely take his player option this year) and we don't have the money to sign a player like him.
The idea is: why not sign Yao Ming in 2010 summer?
Okay,i admit i'm a Chinese. I love Yao but I love Bobcats(boss, coach, and wallace). Bobcats' only problem i think is lacking a dominant center and yao's coming(with 20 points and 10 rebounds) will be the answer. Bobcats needs more attention and more fans. Unfortunately, in China few people care about bobcats. They pay more attention to Rockets and Lakers(suck!) with great enthusiasm. If we get Yao, think about it, 1.3 billion fans!!! G.w will be allstar, and Bobcats can fight for the champion! Another way, never forget M.J! Wallace+Jordan+Yao=most popular team!!!
I know many of you don't like China and many of us treat US as opponent, but we just talk about basketball, go hell, politics and governments! right?

I would fellate a female koala bear if it meant we could acquire him. However, we will not. Glad to see we have fans in china. Good work.![]()

Why dont we sign whang zhi zhi and call it a day?
STARTING AT FOOOORWARD...6'8"..Tyr......wait...Dom..who the fuck?
Zhizhi is to old. If we need help at power forward lets just go get Yi Jianlian from the nets. Give them Alexi to replace the 7 footer and DJ since they need help in the front court. we get a little cap room help at power forward and a Chinese connection. Yes that is 3 wins.

Welcome Chinacat!
I'm for doing everything possible to bring in a Chinese player...if we did I'd never have to worry about a video game link ever again.

I read an article in the past few days that made it sound like Houston will put a nice long term contract on the table for Yao this summer if he opts out of his final year. Yao wins with a long term deal and Houston gets cap savings for next season. Yao really wants to stay there.
Yao is not leaving Houston. It would be great if he was a Bobcat, but he's not leaving Houston.
Welcome to the board though ChinaCat!
