    Default F Small Ball

I am so sick of seeing small ball. Almost an entire half tonight of Diaw at center and we almost lose to the damn Wizards.

I watched it from 5th row center court and is it that hard to see that when we play small ball all we do is completely vacate the lane and allow the other teams D to just force us into late shot clock jump shots from 15-25 feet and to pic up easy boards
Diaw is perhaps the softest starter in the damn league. I understand this is VERY short bursts IF we are going to really run the floor and push the ball but instead we do it for extended periods far too often and settle into a half court offense with it where Diaw gets abused on the defensive end and we settle for garbage shots that only keep us in th egame if someone gets a hot hand

Is it that hard to see this is a recipie for failure. Leave Nazzy in Damn it

Yea, because we were killing them when Chandler or Nazr was in (Sarcasm)

    http://www.queencityhoops.com/player...=DeSagana+Diop

Diop has the highest rating at C out of our centers but...

    http://www.queencityhoops.com/player...yer=Boris+Diaw

Diaw has them all beat by far.

Also a confused lol at Brown's center rating

I know in only 67 minutes but still...

Like it or not, we play our best ball when playing with a small team.

I can't tell you how much I hate small ball. Diaw gets destroyed nite in and nite out. What NBA coach chooses to have Boris Diaw as their center basically the whole game? What F'n sense does that make? Boris Diaw is softer then a baby's cough. He can't stop any post player, He passes up open lay ups. He doesn't put the opposing center in foul trouble. People jump right over him because he doesn't fight and jumps like a senior citizen.

I hate the way he jogs up the court after he turns the ball over or misses a shot
As long as NC has a team, I'm going to cheer for it

I think you are way off base. I agree none of our centers are anything to write home about but that is not the point. The fact is if you watch the games you can see when we have diaw at center we have no one in the post for the vast majority of offensive sets. The allow the defense to simply focus on denying the ball around the perimeter and regularly results in long jump shot as the shot clock runs down. It is agonizing to watch.

We play a decent version of small ball when Felton and DJ play together IF DJ has his shot on that night. We do not play effectively when we have no center int he game at all for extended periods. Once in a while we will get luck and SJax will get hot or Flip and we knock down jumpers. When they are not hot then we dribble half the shotclock away, pass it maybe twice and take a poor shot which we have to pray goes in.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I do not know what you are seeing. We played Horribly last night regardless of what stats say. LB preaches playing the right way. I am fully confident in saying that the right way is not settling for mid to long range jumpers with the shot clock under 5 seconds under pressure.

We really had no buisness winning last night. If it was a good team we were playing we would have been blown out. Felton saved that game at the end. We had poor ball movement and poor shot selection throughout the game. We also allow Mike Miller way more action that he should have in two games let alone one. I watched from 6th row center court and it was damn sloppy basketball

    Again - F Small Ball

Wario, if Stats told the whole story, then you wouldn't need to play the game.

Cosign. Fuck Small Ball. Or just Fuck Diaw in general, although he might like that.

Ahhh who am I trying to kid, small ball is not the answer. We are not going to go anywhere with Meow getting demolished night in and night out.

When/if Tyson ever gets back into shape, I think we will see a lot of rotations with just him and no PF. It is really about matchups though. Sometimes small ball works real well especially when the other team is not as athletic defensively as the Bobcats.

    Well, he is French...

(no offense at all to any of the French here, it's just the culture differences)

Lexy uses lotion to doesn't he? I know I've seen him use it.

If only GW was an inch taller and 5% bulkier...

this is a good observation. i think small ball is how we rattled off such a successful january and saved the tossed salad man from hell on earth. the problem is that diaw is an awful player right now. when we go small ball we should go with naz or tc.
