I simply love the idea of Michael Jordan trying to get through to Tyrus (assuming, of course, that MJ even knows this trade is going down): “The Bobcats, determined to add an athletic big man to their front court, have agreed to acquire Tyrus Thomas in a deal with the Bulls that would send Acie Law, Flip Murray, and a future No. 1 pick to Chicago, a person with knowledge of the situation told CBSSports.com. Charlotte beat out several other suitors — New York, Denver, and San Antonio chief among them — and will have the rest of the season to evaluate the soon-to-be restricted free agent and decide whether to commit to Thomas long-term. Trading Thomas spares the Bulls the embarrassment of losing one of their best players through free agency with no compensation for the second year in a row.”

Looks like the deal has been agreed to and is pending league approval

I remember a game last year when the Bulls came to Charlotte and Thomas started and was so good he scared the crap out of me.

I also remember commenting on this forum after the game how fortunate the Bobcats were that the Bulls didn't realize how good he was and had him sitting for most of the game.
I remember the game you're talking about and I remember having the exact same thoughts about Thomas and the Bulls' use of him.

I'm not overly fond of giving up draft picks, but we really needed to make a move to bolster the frontcourt. If the price is a future pick that may not be that high, I can live with that.

Ray / Jack / Crash / TT / Chandler is a pretty imposing lineup for sure. mean dunkers and lock defenders. a virtual Larry Brown wet dream

we could also press with this team for a minute or two right before the end of the 1st half. then they could get rest. imagine trying to throw over this press?

first rounder sucks, but our draft history is downright terrible. for as many lotto picks that we've had, we haven't truly drafted 1 near all-star. we've traded for good players, but honestly after the lexy pick, i give up hoping for paydirt. it hurts, but we get a former #4 that is 23 years old and hopefully relegates doris to bench duty. they can play off each other and start whomever is hotter and not worry about depth. i'd rather see stevie go than flip, but honestly, flip walks this summer and is too streaky for me to have a hard-on for this year. i like that hendo will FINALLY get some burn rather than flushing yet another draft pick down the drain. honestly though, what if you found out the deal breaker was the future 1st and that TT went to new york instead and that we refused on it, thus not landing a pf? reality is that al harrington > flip murray.

Think about this for a minute: Tyrus Thomas' qualifying offer would be 6.3 million dollars. The Bulls were going to renounce this guy at the end of the season. Does anyone here see us offering that QO?

We just gave up a 1st round pick for a 30 game rental.

Been doing some more research into TT.
I think what we're getting with this guy is a more offensively gifted but smaller Ben Wallace. If TC and TT on the court together, not really much of an offensive threat.
