Come on Spectre. You think that Michael Jordan, Larry Brown and Rod Higgins are the dumbest people on the planet? There is no freaking way we gave up a 1st without figuring something out. There just isnt. And maybe Jordan is buying the team and is ok going over the LT if its a playoff team. Its an obvious road block, and if they didnt think of it, then they will be immediately run out of town.

I do pretty much. They've repeatedly shown that they have no idea of value.
When I get more time I'm going to break down the salary implications for next season...but just winging it for now:
Say we're sitting at 59 million in salary for next season with 10 players. We QO TT (even tho he's not shown in his 3 years that he's even close to being worth that) and we re-up Felton for say 7 million. That gives us 12 players, so we'll probably have to do one more guy at vet min (say 1 million) to reach the roster minimum.
That's a 73 million dollar payroll.
Figure the LT line to drop to around 64 million.
That's 11 over...which is a PENALTY of 11 million (1 for 1). This also means that they lose out on the over tax split...which last year was about 5 million bucks.
How does anyone think that we would go into the hole 16 million dollars when we're already losing like 14 million already?
Y'all figure any possible owner we might have would be willing to lose 30 million next season?

I don't understand why people are sad over this trade. It is a solid move to fill an obvious weakness at PF. We still have Jackson, Hendo, and that other guy I don't like much at SG.
If this is a rental, with our history of bad picks I have no problem missing out on 2 first rounders eventually. You build through trades not drafts.
How is this panic? we have been searching for this exact type of player since the second quarter of the season. if we gave up a 2065 second rounder for a 30 game rental it would be stupid. its not an issue. there is no way we gave up a 1st rounder for a 30 day rental. its just not even in the realm of possibilities. theres a thousand different ways around it, trades, cuts and just flat out going over the luxury tax... ya know, like every team that does well in the playoffs.
just breathe.
