even if this is in the panthers 2008-2009 mentality of "going all in because we may not be here next year" mentality, it's not hopeless. as crappy as our front office has been compared to the top minds in the nba, i can't see how they would sacrifice a future 1st for 30 games + a playoff run for a 23 year old athletic guy that is exactly the kind of player lb likes. i figure a combination of tc/gana/nazy's release or trade, combined with felton offering a hometown discount could bring our number closer to the luxury tax number. i'm not saying we won't go over, but 11M over seems like a pessimistic view. let's say we end up 2-4M over....is it that bad? we've never hit that number in this franchise's history. and if we are a #5-#6 seed playoff contender with a nice blend of youth, athleticism and veteran savvy, i can't see it not being justified.
