Thought they had pegged Sergio as their PG of the future?

Is it just me or at least these in these last 3 or 4 games does the offense seem to run better with DJ at the point? Just looks like to me that the offense crawls with Felton in there lately. Obviously could be several different factors, but it does seem to run better with DJ at the helm.

I'm waaaaaaaaaaaay faaaaaaaaaaaaar away from leading a "Let Ray Walk" brigade, but if DJ can continue to make the offense move effectively like I believe he has lately, he could make it easier to say bye to Ray if he wants an insane contract.

He's been hitting shots the last 2 games...3 back was vs the Celtics where he shot 33% and ironically was the subject of this very thread...and Felton hasn't. Another offensive threat gives the defense more to react to which loosens it up for the other guys.

DJ looked awesome against the Celts................until LB sat him the entire 3rd.

Even in that game he couldn't hit anything other than a layup...but yeah, he did look pretty good in about the first 5 or 6 minutes of the 2nd quarter til Pierce & Garnett came back in. After that they built the lead back up and our offense went south again.

In the 4th he was pretty ineffective (just like Felton was).

DJ still needs to bulk up. Too many times (even this year) have I seen him use his quickness to get by the defender only to get bumped off his line when he rises for the layup. If he can get to where he can absorb the contact, he'll be so much better offensively

The kid spends far too much time on the seat of his pants after a layup attempt.

I know he gets smoked, but you aint going to do much good sitting on your arse watching!

Either that or he needs to stop trying to be like Ray down low and be more of a Steve Nash type scorer. He's not going to bulk up too much, because he's not that soft to begin with. He's just tiny. I doubt he's 6 feet, and he's got a small frame. Not the type you want driving for a contested layup.

I'm not saying he should go strong to the hole. I'm saying he needs to find some go-to move when driving. CP3 is small, he uses a floater, Nash uses a little pull up jumper. Both are extremely effective.

If Auggie can develop either one, he'll be way more effective/less predictable, and he won't be on his rear watching the play develop on the other end of the court

Which helps on both ends, and maybe his PT, too.

He's predictable enough I'd bet you could keep him from scoring inside the paint 9 times out of time.
