That kinda sucked. It was a near duplicate of the Mavs game in Dallas back in Dec. Decent lead late, can't hold it, miss a chance to ice the game in reg, don't, lose by 1 in OT on a last second shot by an All Star fading away and contested. And like that game, the last second shot wasn't that big a deal to me, (hell, that's the NBA most nights, just lucky it hasn't happened to us more often), it was the inability to close it out in reg which would've prevented there being an OT in the first place.
Flat-out, Jack didn't get it done in crunch time, and that is what is most hard for me to take. When he got fouled up 2, I knew he was money at the line, and he inexplicably misses both. Wow. I can honestly say I was shocked. Like someone else posted, that's something that JRich does; Raja did it last year in LA; I can even see Raymond doing that, but Jack? Very disappointing. And then to compound it with the lunge for a steal, allowing Johnson to put up the 8 ft floater to tie it up? Jeezus. Then there's OT, but those 5 minutes are superfluous to me; they shouldn't've even happened. It was just tough to see Mr. Pressure appear to succumb to it, but even the best of the best don't always come through, and I think he'll bounce back next time he's in this situation.
Moving on, so so great to see GW back and playing at his usual beastly best! He didn't miss a beat while he was out, just like he picked up where he left off against LAC last week. Raymond also played phenomenal on both ends, picking up from the OKC game. Did any of their PGs do anything tonight with Raymond out there? Also another solid game from Boris, doing the little things he does that go unnoticed at times. Tyrus also had the makings of a really good game, but didn't get enough minutes. I know Theo had that big block on Crawford late, but he was unusually ineffective on offense tonight, and having Tyrus out there to be able to knock down a 10 footer would've been nice, but who knows.
Overall another great, intense game against a playoff team, games that we've won most of the year, it just didn't happen tonight. The guys'll bounce back tomorrow night and we can move on from this one.

You are going to HATE this!!
-snip-ATLANTA - Raymond Felton had a memorable offensive night Friday for the Charlotte Bobcats. But it was a defensive lapse - and a mental one, at that - that cost the Bobcats in a 93-92 overtime loss against the Atlanta Hawks in Philips Arena.
With the Bobcats having a foul to give, Felton allowed Atlanta's Joe Johnson to get off an unhindered, game-winning shot as the buzzer sounded at the end of overtime.
-snip-"Sometimes the best-laid plans don't seem to work," said Bobcats coach Larry Brown, who had stressed to his team that it still wasn't in the penalty during the timeout that preceded Johnson's game winner.
"At one point I forgot about the foul situation," said Felton. "But when I thought about it, it was too late. It was my mistake."

I do hate that...how in the hell do you forget in 3 seconds?
Still, I'm not one to blame the guy who struck out bottom of the 9th with bases loaded and down 3...then like last night it should never have came down to OT and that final play.
LB not subbing well: left the bench in WAY too long in the 2nd quarter. If you're only going to give them 7-10 minutes why not bust that up into pieces? Why play Felton a solid 29 minutes of the 2nd half? Sure he played well...but he needs rest. I certainly don't think DJ played so badly that he deserved to be benched the entire 2nd half (esp. with Miami tonight).
And why in the hell do you not sit Jax for at least a minute or two while he's jacking up all those 3s on every possession in OT? If they were good shots...fine, but those weren't.
Jax has been good for us, but he takes us out of team play so much and turns it into a one v one contest.

Couldn't agree more. Felts blew that last play - and only sort of because he still did play VERY good D on the JJ shot - but it should NEVER have come down to that.
We should never have been in that position if it wasn't for....................
Ok, ok, ok. I'll get over it. Still furious this morning though!!
I woke up thinking about what happened at the end of reg and then in OT.
"I blew it. I owe my team one."
Yeah I woke up still pissed too.
Thankfully it was at 7:30 instead of 4 o'clock.
It's one thing losing a game...but we gave this one away.

Yeah, I cant really see Ray going from Hero to Goat because of that one mistake. It was still really good Defense played, but just a better shot. Ray had a great game, but for that final 3.8 seconds. You know as important as this game was to us, Ray is really feeling like crap. Just hope he bounces back strong tonight vs Miami.
I have to echo the last few posts.
That really killed. I watched the breakdown of it on NBA fast break and seemed to have seen it 6 times or so on Sportscenter. Everytime, I keep wanting Ray to bump, grab, or do something around Joe's 2nd dribble. If there was any player who using the foul to give vs. it's "Slo-Mo Joe." Big time brain cramp from Ray.
It sucks that it came to that, but damn it still hurts. I can only hope we have enough juice to pull it out tonight. I also hope the bench comes in and gives us a boost when they get in there allowing the starters some rest time.
I have to echo the "it should never have come to that"...IMO when this stuff happens we always start with "poor subbing, turn-overs, and lousy free throw shooting"...and all three of those applied last night much more than a "mental fart" by Ray...![]()
A tribute to "Crash"...We'll miss you Dude...
