Default Tyson for Mek was a great trade for us

Not because Tyson Chandler is good because how that guy can't score at 7'3 and athletism of sf pisses me off and he is as soft as tissue paper and I hope they are able to give away his contract to the Kings but Mek isn't a team player and is a bad locker room guy (I don't mean he takes to many shots or is a trouble maker) but he is almost as offfensively challenged as Tyson Chandler and he isn't even blocking shots like he used to, he is undersized at the 5.
I would have traded Mek for a 2nd round pick with his contract.
He is only averaging 10 points and 9 rebounds. He gets paid like 15 million a year for 10 and 9.
If we still had Mek it would be very hard to resign our free agents. Now with Mek gone and Tyson soon to be gone either trade or letting him expire then now we can reasonably resign our free agents. Maybe not all 5 because Theo might wanna go to a contender and Graham might get a bloated offer to lock down the Kobe's (with Hughes and Hendo there they don't need to pay him more then 2 million) by the Mavs or somebody or the Hawks if they lose JJ but they can resign Tyrus Thomas (who alone is better then Mek) Ray and Hughes all for the same amount.

Lets say they sign for this much (estimate)

    Tyrus-6 million
    Ray-6 million
    Hughes 3 million

That is the same amount it would cost to pay Mek about and you would get 3 players and 2 of them are much better then Mek plus Larry Hughes who's not to bad.

Its pretty much been said by everyone in the organization that the trade was strictly done for financial reasons, if Tyson happened to step up when he got here that would be an added bonus. I had no problem with the trade and I think long term we'll be better off without Mek.

nd summed it up. dex, chandler is not 7'3" and though he is mobile, small forward, he does not remind me of. he has hands of stone, no moves, and is one-dimensional with the pick and roll/flush as his only asset. he is a fouling machine that reminds me of a rookie or college player with his lack of understanding fundamental basketball in this aspect. i am glad we are rid of mek and will be equally as glad when tyson comes off the books.

Niether Mek nor Tyson is tough inside. Mek should be a 4 and Tyson might be the softest player in the NBA. Can't wait till we get rid of him. Nazr should be getting the bulk of the minutes. Diop also needs to go.

    1. it is not necessary to post every Bobcats related thought that comes to your head

    2. please don't post the same topics here and at RealGM most people read both and its just annoying to see everything twice

    Quoted for truth.

While we're at it, I agree with CN. It's nice that you're contributing to the forums and all that, but most of this discussion has already passed through (ages ago). While we're not RGM, and I don't know how things at RGM are done (forgive my ignorance) but we've been through the TC/Mek discussion when the trade was made. We knew it was purely financial since Mek had a huge fat contract that will now stunt Hornets growth, and TC will take the PO next season before coming off the books.

Yeah Im sure you did talk about it but A. I wasn't here for that. B. You talked about when Mek was just given away and was a pretty good player.
It's relevent now because Mek has been sucking this year and more as of late.
It's been in the news on hoopshype.com and realgm.com that he is having such a terrible year. It's his worst year of his career.

As for posting a thread here and one on realgm.com why would you care if it's there to?

I posted it on both because sometimes one of the boards have no traffic and are dead and you don't always know if your gonna get a responce so I posted on both boards.
Why would that be an issue?

I don't get if somebody doesn't like a topic, why not just don't bother with it. And why would anybody have a problem with topics espially since there are exactly alot right now.

Anyway back to the actual topic I know Chandler isn't a sf I was just basically saying he isn't a stiff he is limble and fast and should be able to score alot.
Also he is 7'2. That is real. Not 7'3 but is 7'2.
