this is just part of the package that comes LB. the national media do this everywhere he goes. they did the year after the pistons won the title but they still made it back to the finals(lost to the spurs)
Don't you guys think (or is it just my twisted mind) that the media is just trying to distract the team going into their first playoff games? I mean how convenient is it that all this is coming out right now. Also look who's releasing the info The Philidephian and the NY Post (and to a lesser extent ballwhore.) Honestly I'm not worried about it right now. Lets let the season end before we worry about that. Also if I'm right about the whole distraction thing, is that good or bad that they would be trying to?

Larry's completely denying these reports so hopefully it is just the media stirring up trouble.![]()
I'm not sure that LB could do anything other than deny...anyway...this just popped up in the Philly Inquirer and I have no doubt they (76ers) will contact him...and I would not blame him if he leaves...I'd want to be with my family...

I don't think this is the media stirring things up. There's probably a 50% chance that he leaves. There is a precedent for this, and it makes sense for him.

Agreed. I really hope he comes back, but it makes too much sense for him not to. I believe he has rather strong ties with the Philly organization, and it is his home. If he does a proposed GM role then he wouldn't have as active of a traveling role, either. The man is almost 70, I believe. I know he loves the game, but at a certain point he will need to take a step back and relax.
That said, our guys could really use him around for another year. I am not sure what solid coaches are actually available right now. LB would be hard to replace.
jd...I'm going to write a three-piece article about coaches (in general)...I agree that I'd like to see LB finish his contract...would really help Ray (if he is here) and Tyrus and the team as a whole...but if I'm him (repeating myself) I'd take a FO job and not travel (with the 76ers) if I could (agree 100% with you on that)...I think he proved to all his critics he can still coach in the NBA...so now would be a great time to walk away from coaching and stop all the travel...
